In an interview with Rolling Stone, Neeson discussed his interview on ABC's "The View," which aired almost a week ago. The actor recalled feeling "uncomfortable" during the show, mainly due to some of the hosts' reactions to his presence.

He had hoped that their conversation would center on a significant issue, mainly because he had overheard them discussing gun violence in America prior to his joining them on stage.

"I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion," Neenson said about the hosts, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Griffin, and Sunny Hostin.

Neeson also commented on his lengthy film career and reputation as an action star in other parts of his conversation with Rolling Stone.

He opened up about one of his highly-rated movies, "Taken," saying that he worried the film would be a commercial failure during its production.

Referencing his fears, the actor recalled begging the director to do away with a scene that seemed to share a similar narrative with other action flicks.

"I begged Pierre Morel, 'Please, can we cut this back? This is so corny. I feel I've seen this and heard this in so many movies,'" Neeson recounted the experience.

He shared the detail after being asked if he turned down playing the iconic role in 1995's "Golden Eye."

"My lovely wife, god rest her soul, said to me while we were shooting Nell down in the Carolinas, 'Liam, I want to tell you something: If you play James Bond, we're not getting married,'" Neeson said, adding that he was "interested" but did not get the role.

"She gave me a James Bond ultimatum. And she meant it!" he continued, then went on to say that his wife was emphatic about it because the fictional character was connected to the concept of being a lover of women.
