Gia Giudice Deems Uncle Joe Gorga An 'Opportunist' For Using Her Father In A Video

Gia Giudice has called out her uncle Joe Gorga following his Instagram post that showed his reunion with her father, Joe Giudice. She took to the comment section to diss the real estate developer, calling him an opportunist for using the reunion to gain clout despite his strained relationship with her father.

Gorga responded to the remark from Gia by asking her to "get the hate out of her heart." In a previous interview, he shared that his criticism of Joe was because he was trying to protect his sister, Teresa Giudice, to whom Joe was married to at the time.

Taking to the comment section of Gorga's reunion post, Gia criticized her uncle for trying to gain clout through his one-off chance reunion with her father.

"This is honestly comical knowing you were with him for not even 5 minutes and [were] able to have somebody take a video of the interaction; meanwhile, all you have done is talked so poorly about my father," the 22-year-old said, seemingly referencing instances when Gorga pilloried Joe on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey."

The aspiring lawyer further remarked about her uncle, "you are such an opportunist to take advantage of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see my father and use it for a post."

Joe and Gorga's sister, Teresa, were a couple for over two decades until they finalized their divorce in 2021. Apart from Gia, they share three other daughters.

The video Gia commented on featured Joe sharing a hug with his former brother-in-law in a bar in the Bahamas. Gorga was holidaying at the tropical location while Joe has lived there since being deported from the U.S.

Huge smiles could be seen on both men's faces as they seemed delighted to meet one another. They were both dressed in comfortable, tropical-inspired attire to blend in.

Gorga captioned the video, "Both walked into the same bar at the same time. A lot of history there. We have memories since we were kids."

He also shared that he was happy that his former brother-in-law was in good health.

The post also read, "I'm happy he's doing well and looks good. We were both happy to see each other and catch up. Glad someone caught it. #life #rhonj."

Following Gia's remark in the comments section, Gorga responded to her criticism by acknowledging that he had indeed bashed her father in the past.

However, he noted that their reunion was "nice," adding that Gia was only feeding her heart with unhealthy anger. He said, "we both said horrible things about each other. It was a nice moment. We have a lot of history. Get the hate out of your heart."

The real estate developer previously discussed his criticism of Joe during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" last March. At the time, he shared that he was only being protective of his sister, who was going through a divorce from Joe.

"Before that day, my sister's telling me they're going through a divorce, and she's telling me all these things that he was saying to her," Gorga said, referencing a heated episode of "RHONJ" Season 12.

He added, "So I'm sitting there, and I'm thinking about all this, and then we had that episode a couple days later, so I explode, and it's my sister — I'm trying to protect her."

After finalizing her divorce from Joe, Teresa subsequently married Luis "Louie" Ruelas in a romantic ceremony in August 2022. Gorga and his wife, Melissa, were noticeably not in attendance due to their long-running feud with the "RHONJ" star.

Teresa was left to walk down the aisle without the support of her brother or her father, Giacinto, who died in April 2020.

Her solo act really impressed Gia, who opened up about the moment in a recent interview with Page Six.

"There's not many women that could say they walked down the aisle alone," Gia said about the unforgettable moment. "And also, the nerves of walking down the aisle alone, like, I would've been freaking out!"

She also lauded "the strength that it took for [Teresa] to walk down that aisle alone," adding that her mother "looked so beautiful and so seamless doing it."
