Orlando Bloom Says Sometimes Things Are Really 'Challenging'
The "Lord Of The Rings" actor told Flaunt magazine that dating Perry was "very challenging." Bloom, who welcomed Daisy Dove Bloom with the singer in 2020, revealed that they were "very different" from each other. While they are very in love, the couple finds it hard to understand themselves.
"We're in two very different pools," he said. "Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands. Sometimes things are really, really, really challenging." Bloom also revealed that the couple struggled with their "emotions and creativity."
The 46-year-old shared that long distance was another major issue in their dating life. The stars found it hard to make time for their relationship amid their busy schedules. The distance, coupled with their other differences, led to their split in 2017.
Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Broke Up Previously
Bloom and his fiancée kicked off their relationship in 2016. However, they ended things on friendly terms the year after. At the time, their spokesperson noted that they were "taking a respectful, loving space at this time." Following this, the "Teenage Dream" singer revealed in an interview that their relationship mentally challenged her.
However, the lovers got back together the following year and later got engaged. Amid their differences, the two are in love and are willing to make things work. Perry noted this in a 2020 interview with Vogue India. At the time, she revealed that Bloom was willing to find a middle ground in their relationship. She also noted how much she respected him.
"He's an anchor who holds me down, and he's very real." Bloom, on his part, said he was grateful to have the "Dark Horse" singer in his life. He said, "I think we're both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there's definitely never a dull moment.".
The Couple's Wedding Plans Were Halted By The Pandemic
Per Page Six, the "Carnival Row" star and Perry have previously revealed their plans to tie the knot in Japan. Unfortunately, they had to put their wedding plans on hold following the COVID-19 outbreak. However, they gave birth to their daughter later in 2020.
At the time, they spoke about their relationship and now two-year-old daughter to UNICEF. "We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter." News of their daughter fueled claims that the two were already married, but Perry debunked the rumors last year, saying that the pandemic ruined their plans.
Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Were Both Married Before
In 2010, Bloom got married to his then-girlfriend, Miranda Kerr, after dating for three years. However, they got divorced three years later, totaling six years with the model. The two, who share a son, Flynn, decided to co-parent the now 12-year-old. While the actor is now with Perry, Kerr once commended his co-parenting and fathering skills.
Perry herself previously got married to English actor Russell Brand before splitting from the comedian after two years. The singer has now established a special bond with her husband's ex Kerr, whom she recently praised as her "sister from another mister."
