Azealia Banks Explains Why She Dug Up Her Dead Cat

Azealia Banks has trended a lot over the last few years on social media and the topics have been for things other than her music. This time, it is for her digging up her dead cat, Lucifer, on Tuesday. 

After that she appeared to be cooking the animal's corpse in a huge pot. As many can imagine, social media was grossed out by this footage that Banks posted in her Instagram stories. 

Now, she is clearing the air about why she decided to get the body of her old friend.

"Why do you think i would eat a dead cat," asked Banks in her Instagram stories amidst the criticism. 

"When I can barely eat a dead cow. It's called taxidermy.... Plenty of hunters with preserved deer heads hanging off their wall. Darlings..... You guys are being racist and this is very un-black lives matter of you all. The cat's head is soaking in peroxide to fully clean him, then I'm taking him to a jewelry shop to have it gilded."

Banks had high praise for Lucifer in her Instagram stories as well as she want as far as calling the cat an "icon." She explained that she simply wanted to preserve Lucifer's body and what she did with his skull is no big deal compared to what other people do.

"Lucifer was an icon. He deserves to be preserved. You girls are not tough like me. Rabbi's suck the blood off of a newborns circumcised penis. I really don't want to hear sh*t about preserving a cat skull."

Following the Instagram stories of Banks digging up Lucifer, many people on social media wondered why she would do something as unusual such as this. People also wondered if Banks is battling situations mentally that caused her to do this. 

There are thoughts of why wouldn't she "preserve" Lucifer's dead when he originally passed away in 2020 and not months after his body decayed. In Banks' original post on her main page, she revealed that Lucifer lived for over 10 years.

Banks boiling her dead cat isn't the only wild thing she's doing on social media over the last few days. She is also taking shots at Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat by body-shaming both of them. Doja's "Juicy" music video featuring Tyga was playing and from there, she was called "fat" and "disgusting" by Banks. 

For Megan, she called her fat as well as Banks was watching the "Girls In The Hood" music video. While watching this, Banks continued to keep yelling how Megan is getting fat. Hopefully, Banks trends in the future for better reasons.
