On June 24, the rapper created a campaign she named, “Sue Crowe for spitting on AB.” It’s been a month and she has only raised a total of $2,903 out of her $100,000 goal.
The last donation was received 21 days ago and the ability to donate money to Banks has been put on pause.
We’re told the rapper has failed to fill the proper information to receive a payout and until she does, the campaign will remain inactive.
Banks’ campaign is not suspended and has not been taken down for any other reason.
In her campaign, Azealia Banks wrote, “Russell Crowe spit on me at a party in 2016 and denied it, had a group of people gaslight me causing irreparable damage to my acting career and my reputation as well as loads of emotional damage. Whatever money comes of this will be donated to ocean clean up charities.”
She continued, “This isn’t about a big pay day for me, it’s about letting the world know that black women are victims to the same sort of disgusting violence men in Hollywood deal out to women and it’s important to send a message that black women also deserve justice and will get justice in these situations. Crowe called me a nigger, choked me, and spat on me… if I were a white singer he wouldn’t have even thought about laying a finger on me …”
This all stems from a 2016 incident with Crowe at the Beverly Hills Hotel where the two got into an altercation and the actor tried to kick her out of his hotel suite. She allegedly threatened to cut one of his guests with a glass.
She claimed Russell choked her, spit on her and hurled the N-word. Azealia would later file a police report.
RZA was present during the incident and confirmed Crowe spit on her but said the rapper was drunk and acting out of control.
The D.A. rejected the case and decided not to file charges against Crowe after speaking to several witnesses present who backed up the actor.
