Megan Decided To Still Shoot Video With DaBaby Despite Him Working With Tory Lanez
Last week, DaBaby trended online as it was revealed by Tory Lanez that Baby will be on one of his upcoming singles.
Lanez put up a post of a photo on Instagram of the two in a scene from the music video for their record. Baby immediately drew criticism as everyone knows that he is cool with Megan.
It is presumed by many people as well that Lanez was the one who shot Megan Thee Stallion as well so this was a puzzling situation.
Megan Says DaBaby's Collab With Lanez Is Old And Not Cleared And Gives Him A Pass
"@dababy X TORY LANEZ ......... SONG + VISUALS ON THE WAY ..... ?????#2021Umbrella ....drop a ☂️ in the comments if you ready for this !"
Megan then subliminally tweeted about Lanez as she said "Nice try." A fan soon replied to her saying "f*ck DaBaby." Megan quickly replied to that as she said that this collab between Lanez and DaBaby is "old and not cleared."
Therefore, that was good enough of a reason for her to move forward and still shoot the Cry Baby video with DaBaby.
DaBaby And Megan Also Had A Huge Hit in 2019 With 'Cash S*it'
Many fans of Megan and DaBaby also remember when they collaborated on Megan's "Cash S*it" single back in 2019. This appeared on Megan's "Fever" mixtape and was arguably the biggest record on this project.
Cash S*it peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has since gone 2x platinum in the US. From that point, fans wanted more collabs between the two and we've heard them on DaBaby's "Nasty" song which included Ashanti and now, Cry Baby is doing numbers.
Megan And DaBaby Both Have Multiple 2021 Grammy Nominations
Megan and DaBaby continue to win big individually as well as they each have nominations for this year's GRAMMYS that will be taking place in March. Megan has four in total as she is in the Best Song, Best New Artist, Best Record, and Best Rap Performance categories.
DaBaby is nominated for four as he is included in the categories for Best Song, Best Record, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap/Sung Performance.
Megan and DaBaby are in some of the same categories together so it will be interesting to see who is able to take home some hardware on music's biggest night.
