Ben Affleck has a new tattoo, and it's not awful!
The Hollywood veteran needs no introduction neither does his beautiful wife, Jennifer Lopez. In the entertainment world, the pair are a match made in heaven, given their outstanding careers and their history of coming back to each other.
When the dynamic duo tied the knot in 2022, we assumed they had sealed their love forever. However, the lovebirds chose to engrave their feelings for each other on their flesh permanently — a boss move they unveiled on Valentine's Day.
Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Celebrate Valentine's Day With New Tattoos
When it comes to body art, the "Gone Girl" actor is no stranger to adorning his gym-honed figure with numerous inks. While a few of his brave encounters with the needle did not win any favoritism, the 50-year-old's latest work is warming our hearts.
As seen on J.Lo's Instagram feed, the power couple commemorated their blossoming romance with complementary tattoos. The first image in the 10-slide carousel captured the pop culture icon in all her glory.
Lopez flaunted her gorgeous body in an ab-flaunting crop top, giving fans a good view of her body art. The inked piece rested on the side of her torso, above the entertainer's ribcage, and featured an arrow piercing through an infinity sign. The infinity sign was made out of the "On The Floor" singer and Affleck's first names, signifying the pair's underlying love for each other.
Down the carousel came the "Justice League" actor's tattoo. The Oscar winner's design consisted of two overlapping arrows with the couple's initials "J" and "B" written above and below the arrows' edges. Unlike his wife's picture, the TV personality's image did not include his full figure. However, it appeared he immortalized his love for JLo close to his armpit area, on his inner arm.
The remaining slides featured various moments from the lovebirds' lives. Some of the snaps captured the duo on a yacht with the voluptuous goddess in a tiny yellow bikini, an attire her husband appreciated by grabbing the actress's famous derrière. Additionally, the carousel featured throwback pictures from the couple's earlier days, including their PDA moment at the 75th Academy Awards in 2003.
"Happy Valentine's Day, my love," Lopez captioned the heartfelt post with a white heart emoji before telling fans to look forward to more details about the couple's special day in her newsletter, "OnTheJLo."
The 53-year-old continued by adding the hashtags: "#CommitmentIsSexy, #ThisIsUsThen, #ThisIsUsNow, and #ThisIsMeNow." These hashtags referenced the couple's tattoos, relationship history, and the Latina heartthrob's upcoming album.
"This Is Me … Now" marked the "Selena" actress's first album in nine years. While this is a fantastic achievement, it does not overshadow that Affleck has redeemed himself with his latest tattoo.
A History Of Ben Affleck's Controversial Tattoos
As aforementioned, the "Deep Water" actor's glorious body is covered in various tattoos. However, the entertainer's taste in body arts has raised several eyebrows, unlike his recent work. Per reports, the most notorious of his inked pieces is the enormous phoenix that covered the 50-year-old's back.
The Golden Globe recipient initially claimed the giant artwork was "fake" after paparazzi spotted him with the phoenix design in 2015. When news outlets queried his ex-wife Jennifer Garner about the tattoo, the actress did not hesitate to express her dislike for the ink.
"You know what we would say in my hometown about that? 'Bless his heart,' the mother-of-three said. "A phoenix rising from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario? I take umbrage. I refuse to be the ashes. "
Garner was not alone in hating the tattoo as Lopez echoed similar thoughts during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" in 2016. According to the triple-threat-entertainer, the phoenix design was "awful" and far too colorful for the songstress's tastes.
Despite the hate he received over the inked work, Affleck stood by his choice. In 2019, he explained to Ellen DeGeneres on her former eponymous talk show that the tattoo represented something meaningful to him.
Aside from the controversial phoenix, the Humanitas Prize honoree has a dolphin tattooed on his lower back, a design sources dubbed as the actor's "tramp stamp." There is also an intricate pattern of roses, swords, and a deck of cards on his right shoulder, among other inked works.
