Virgil had such great relationships with many people in the fashion world and music industry. He and Kanye West were great friends but he was so much more than that he rubbed elbows with Rihanna and one has to assume that if he was still alive today, her Super Bowl halftime show would include something from the designer.

He was also good friends with Drake, and Frank Ocean, he often spoke of his friends bouncing ideas off of him. Abloh passed away at age 41 in 2021 after a battle with a rare cancer. After his passing, fans wondered what direction, the fashion house would take now.

After sitting out to properly grieve Virgil and the designs we would no longer get, they were ready to make their next move, Pharrell.
