While making an appearance on The World's First Podcast, Hudson explained to host Erin Foster and Sara Foster her reasons for getting married to Robinson in her early twenties.

Defending her decision, the actress said it was not an "impulsive" one and that she was "madly in love" at the time.

"I went to New York, and I met Chris, and [when] I came home, I was like, 'Oh, I'm marrying this guy,'" the 43-year-old said per Page Six. "I was just like, 'You know what? I'm going to dive right into this.'"

The duo got married in 2000 and welcomed one son Ryder, before later splitting in 2007.

Recalling walking down the aisle at the time, Foster said she "chose not to second guess" and was too "in love" to "pretend" to wait for a different time in their future.
