Kate Hudson was a nervous “stage mom” over the weekend while she was watching her son Ryder Robinson, 18, perform with his band at The Mint in Los Angeles. The proud mom, 42, posted a carousel of photos on her Instagram page documenting the fun evening.
Looking Nervous Waiting for the Show to Begin
The post was simply captioned, “Watching my baby 🎸 @mr.ryderrobinson #stagemoms #bestnight 💫” and the first photo in the post is of Hudson and a friend looking nervous as they wait for the show to begin. Another photo shows that also there to support Robinson was Hudson’s stepfather, Kurt Russell, 71, dressed casually in jeans, a tee shirt, flannel shirt and flip-flops.
Tons of Support for Robinson and his “Stage Mom”
Another photo in the post was of Robinson playing guitar, who is following in the footsteps of his musician dad, Chris Robinson, frontman of the band “The Black Crowes.” The post received more than 60,000 likes, and the comment section was filled with positive, supportive and loving messages.
“Most kids don’t get Kate Hudson & Kurt Russell in their crowd 😂”

“How exciting !!! What a special night for all of you. Go Ryder 🎸✨”

Performing with his Brother at Home
Just a few days ago, Hudson posted a video on Instagram of Robinson jamming with little brother, Bingham “Bing” Hawn, 10. Hawn played the drums as Robinson played the electric guitar. Hudson captioned the video, “My boys 🥰 What more could a mom ask for other than boys who play rock and are hilarious at the same time ✅ @mr.ryderrobinson what a good big brother. We’re gonna miss you big time 😢 #offtocollege #guessthesong” The post got more than 1 million views in just a few days, as well as more than 106,000 likes and 1,400 comments of support.

Celebrating a Big Milestone and New Chapter
Back in early June, the proud mom posted a tribute to Robinson when he graduated high school.
“Today was a big day for our family. A day you talk about about when your kids are little and say things like “hey, one day it will be 2022 and you’ll graduate from high school!” As if that day is so far it is barely reachable. And then here we are! @mr.ryderrobinson you are the most incredible young man. Raising you has been one of the great gifts and pleasures of my life. You bring so much to everyone’s life. You are kind, loving, generous, patient, hilarious and one of a kind. I am so excited for this next chapter. Way to go baby! Ma loves you! AND!!! To all the parents out there feeling the same thing I am today! CONGRATS! Letting your babies fly ain’t easy but fly kiddos fly! 💫”
Also seen in the photo are Hudson’s other two children, son Bing with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy and daughter Rani Rose, 3, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.
