Post Malone is not getting top service in Australia.
Although the multi-hyphenate has made a name for himself in his country — and the world at large — his popularity did nothing for him when he walked into a bar in the world's sixth-largest country over the weekend. The "Sunflower" artist was allegedly turned away from the establishment when he tried to patronize them, no thanks to the many tattoos adorning his body.
Post Malone Turned Away By Australian Bar Security
While he can freely enter any establishment within the United States, Malone found out that the accepted dress code at QT hotel in Perth, Australia, was slightly different. The rapper-singer, who is heavily etched with at least 12 tattoos on his face, has words such as "Always Tired" drawn under his eyes, a barbed wire tattooed across his hairline, and a thin sword drawn on his cheek.
He also has the words "Stay Away" ironically etched above his brows, bringing to life the events that transpired when he attempted entry into the hotel's rooftop bar. Malone was asked to exit the bar by security for violating their strict policy that prohibits "face, neck, and offensive tattoos."
"They turned me away for my tattoos. I've never really experienced anything like that," the "White Iverson" hitmaker shared in disbelief after the incident. Since the QT hotel had nothing to offer him, Malone took his coins to the 18 Knots rooftop bar, where security discreetly let him in.
While there, the 27-year-old allegedly mingled with his fans, even bought them drinks, before spending quality time with his crew. As Malone turned up at the second location, QT drafted an apology sent to the Daily Mail Australia by a rep. The statement reads:
"At QT, we aim to welcome everyone and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual. QT has been recognized for this for many years. However, on Saturday night, our third-party security did not exercise the appropriate discretion, and we take full responsibility for this. We sincerely apologize to the individuals affected."
Malone — real name Austin Richard Post — is in Australia for his Twelve Carat tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Fans Are Concerned For The 'Rockstar' Singer's Health
Fans expressed concern for the "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" cameo star after he appeared on stage looking leaner than they remembered. The Blast noted that Malone's reps addressed the visible weight loss, claiming that his previous weight gain was for a movie role.
In their words, he shed the extra pounds after filming ended through exercise and adherence to a strict diet and workout routine. The sources also added that constantly being up and performing a 90-minute set every other night contributed significantly to Malone's new trim figure.
Even his father, Richard, chimed in by responding to a concerned fan's questions about his son's health, writing, "Healthiest he's been in years! Mentally and physically."
Richard's words seemed to contradict what happened shortly after Malone kicked off his tour when he canceled his Boston concert following complications from previous rib injuries. To that end, the Billboard Music Award winner had taken to his social media pages to drop a statement that began:
"Boston, I love y’all so f—— much. On tour, I usually wake up around 4 o’clock PM, and today I woke up to a cracking sounds on the right side of my body."
Malone added that even though he "felt so good last night," things felt different when he woke up that morning. The iHeartRadio Music Award winner continued:
"I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move.” Also, he explained to his fans that the discomfort wouldn’t let him give them the show they deserved, but he would make up for it."
Malone further assured his fans that their tickets for the event "will be valid for the reschedule that we're planning right now." He finished by apologizing again and declaring his affection for the city with the vow "to make this up to you. I love you Boston, I'll see you soon."
He had initially injured his ribs after he fell through a trap door during a concert performance.
