Ashley Graham Kickstarts NYFW With First Visit To Empire State Building

Ashley Graham is exploring New York City as the New York Fashion Week officially begins!

The most anticipated fashion weekend is here, and the model who gave birth to her twin boys last year revealed her excitement for the fashion weekend. In celebration of the fashion weekend, Graham visited one of the city’s famous architectural buildings. 

The fashion model began the fashion weekend by visiting New York’s seventh-tallest building, the Empire State Building. Graham took to Instagram to detail her first-time visit to the famous building. She shared images of herself enjoying her time at the facility. 

The first image on Graham’s carousel gave a view of the outside scenery from the top floor of The Empire State Building. The former Sports Illustrated model playfully leaned on a railing and raised her hand in the air. The following snap on the collection displayed the fashion model’s entire outfit. The author rocked a long brown dress, pairing it with a cropped brown jacket and stilettos. 

Elsewhere in the collection of memories was a clip of the mom of three doing a cute dance outside the building. Additionally, there was a photo where the fashion mogul struck a sultry pose in the building’s elevator. 

Captioning the post, Graham expressed what the visit meant to her. She penned, “New York has been my home for so many years so this really feels like a full circle moment. Today was my first time actually at the Empire State Building and it means all the more to me to kick off this NYFW celebrating the city that raised me. ”

Before ending the caption, the former “America's Next Top Model” judge spread cheer to everyone participating in the NYFW. She said, “Screaming ‘GOOD LUCK’ to all of the designers, stylists, models, and creatives celebrating their first fashion week.”

Several of Graham’s 19.8 million followers liked the post and showered love on her in the comment section. A follower gushed, “You look amazing!!!” while another commented, “I can feel your joy.”

This tour post comes days after she disclosed that she decided to stop breastfeeding her twins because it didn’t work. Graham detailed her reasons for taking the decision, which she shared with Chelsea Handler on "The Daily Show." 

Handler began the discussion, noting how quickly Graham had her three sons. In response, the model said, "It was overnight my whole life changed, and yes, it felt like I was just like feeding a nation."

The host further pointed out that Graham used her social media to spread awareness for the changes that come with breastfeeding. According to the 35-year-old, she wanted every woman to be enlightened about breastfeeding before making decisions about whether to breastfeed or not.

She then went into her breastfeeding journey, disclosing that she chose to breastfeed her first son when he was still little.  Unfortunately, it was different with her twins, as breastfeeding did not work and took a lot of effort.

Deciding to use alternatives, Graham looked for the best formula for the boys, which she ultimately found in Bobbie. In her words: "So I stopped breastfeeding when they were five months, and I gave them the best formula that I could find in America, Bobbie." Since trying the formula with her boys, Graham remarked that her "little guys" are "strong and happy.”

Before giving birth to her boys, the lingerie model has always advocated for body positivity. After the birth of her sons, it hasn't been any different.

Last month, the 35-year-old showed off how her postpartum body was transitioning into its former state. Graham posted pictures rocking a green two-piece bikini, emphasizing her slim waistline, slender arms, and ample hips.

Styling the look, the lingerie model — who appeared on the cover of Vogue in 2019 — added a straw cowboy hat and a chunky gold bangle. In the first image on her carousel, Graham placed one hand on her thigh and the other on the wall, staring at the camera as she thrust one hip out.

The next snap featured that same stance, with the mother-of-three placing one hand on her hip and the other on her thigh.
