Playboi Carti's 'Whole Lotta Red' Becomes First No. 1 Album Of 2021

For months, fans of Playboi Carti were waiting for his sophomore album, "Whole Lotta Red."
In October and November, many believed that the album could be out at any time during the Friday music release dates but that was never the case for Whole Lotta Red.
Finally, on the week of Christmas, Carti took to his social media feeds to reveal that the album would be out on Christmas. When midnight struck at midnight on that day, Carti did come through with Whole Lotta Red.
'Whole Lotta Red' Officially Debuts At No. 1 On Billboard 200 Chart
According to Chart Data, Whole Lotta Red is officially the No. 1 album in the country on the Billboard 200 chart. This is after selling 100,000 units in its first week. 126.43 million streams were also accumulated over this time.
Also, Whole Lotta Red is the first No. 1 album of 2021 as well. When the album was first released, it was heavily criticized on social media due to it not meeting expectations. The streams made up for it though and are now Carti's first No. 1 album.

Whole Lotta Red Deluxe Edition Is Also Coming
Whole Lotta Red contains 24 tracks overall and also includes appearances from Future, Kid Cudi, and Kanye West. Carti also revealed that a deluxe edition is also on the way. He asked fans on Twitter which songs they'd like to hear on it as well.
As of now, Carti has not revealed how many additional tracks will appear on the deluxe. Nonetheless, his supporters are ready for more music from him after the success of Whole Lotta Red over the past week.
Carti Also Saw Huge Success With 'Die Lit' Album In 2018
Carti fans had to wait over two and a half years for another album by him. The last one he put out was back in May 2018 with his debut studio album, "Die Lit." This project contained 19 tracks with star-studded appearances from Nicki Minaj,Bryson Tiller,Travis Scott, and more. It went on to peak at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. That project helped him become an even bigger star after putting out his breakout hit single, "Magnolia," in 2017.
Carti's Baby Mama, Iggy Azalea, Also Feuded With Him After The Release Of The Album
Shortly after Whole Lotta Red was released, Carti's ex-girlfriend and current baby mama, Iggy Azalea, called him out on Twitter. She claimed that he avoided seeing her and their son Onyx for Christmas.
Instead, Carti went to an album release party with the woman that he cheated on Azalea with during her pregnancy. She added that he missed the birth of their child to play PlayStation with Lil Uzi Vert in Philadelphia this year. Azalea then revealed that she and Carti finally hashed things out.
