Lea Michele Gets Called Out AGAIN For Her Allegedly Rude Conduct
According to the New York Post, a woman, Laura Eletel, slammed Michele's behavior on the set of the now-canceled show, "The Mayor."
In a since-deleted video, she opened up about working as a background regular on the show and having to play Michele's stand-in while filming episode 7 of 12.
As part of the requirements, Eletel said she was expected to do several tasks that would ensure the "Funny Girl" star delivered on her role.
However, when she met Michelle to read the script and go over the director's notes, the actress allegedly put on a standoffish attitude.
"I'm like halfway through, she's not even making eye contact with me, she hasn't said hello, she doesn't even, like, acknowledge my presence," Eletel recalled the alleged experience. "I'm like, 'OK, maybe she's just, like, hearing it. It's fine.'"
She added that when Michele finally noted her presence, the "Glee" star rudely addressed her.
"Finally, she looks up, and she goes, 'You're still talking? I need it to stop,'" Eletel said before adding that she felt like dying "on the spot."
Lea Michele Was Almost Fired
Eletel also described in the video that Michele displayed other improper attitudes, like throwing tantrums and refusing to turn up on set on time.
"By Episode 3, they were thinking of firing her because she kept throwing tantrums and staying in her trailer for far too long and like, making production just go over budget by days," she said in the now-deleted TikTok re-shared by Perez Hilton.
Eletel also alleged that the 36-year-old "needed" the job due to her facing backlash following accusations of her being "racist, mean and aggressive on the set of 'Glee.'"
Hence, Michele still putting up an attitude despite being "officially blacklisted as being difficult" at the time was irritating to her former co-workers.
Other Cast Members Were Reportedly Affected By Her Behavior
Eletel claimed that other cast and crew members also faced tough times working with the actress.
She recalled that one of them, Yvette Nicole Brown, had to restrain herself from "cursing" the actress on the last day of filming.
"It was glorious because I was the stand-in for that episode, and I witnessed it," Eletel recounted the experience. "It's so sad because I really wanted to like her because I think she's beautiful and she's so talented." She added, "But she is deplorable."
Eletel said that she had forgotten about the event until lately when reports that Michele could not read began to circulate.
"I was like, 'I've never actually seen her like type anything cohesive on her phone' — 'cause she's constantly on her phone," she alleged. "I mean, she wouldn't even look once at the script, and I'm thinking now maybe it's because she couldn't read the script."
Lea Michele Has Tried To Make Amends
While Michele has on multiple occasions addressed the illiteracy conspiracy publicly, she has been privately reaching out to her former "Glee" co-stars to make amends for her past behaviors.
"I think these past two years have been so important for everybody to just sit back and reflect. I did a lot of personal reach-outs," the actress said during a chat with Interview Magazine.
She added, "But the most important thing was for everybody to just take a step back. More than anything, I'm so grateful to have this opportunity to apply the things that I've learned over the past ten-plus years in a positive way."
The "Funny Girl" actor also said she saw her role in the Broadway production as an opportunity to take charge, perform better than before, and show fans the "new her."
