Just when singer Trey Songz thought he had dodged one lawsuit, another one pops up to the tune of $25 million and bystanders are being drawn into it.
Trey Songz Accused Of Sexual Assault
The lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles is accusing the 38-year-old of an assault that took place in 2016 where he allegedly sodomized a woman during a party in March. The court documents obtained by The Blast detailed that the singer wasn’t in the thick of it on his own.
Members of his team from his team including his manager Kevin Liles, 300 Entertainment, and Atlantic Records are also named in the lawsuit. The accusation is linked to the one filed in February by the same Jane Doe who claims that the people the singer surrounds himself with are enablers.
Trey Songz Accuser Speaks Out
The Jane Doe in the case released a statement via their lawyer George Vrabeck to Rolling Stone magazine.
“This case is much more than about one singer and one viciously abused sexual assault survivor who has the courage to take action.” Vrabeck continues, “It’s also very much about the systematic sexual abuse in the music industry and the music industry’s complicity in silencing sexual abuse survivors. It’s virtually impossible to believe that those executives are not and were not aware of the institutionalized sexual abuse.”
No one from the “Invented Sex” singer’s camp has released a statement or made any kind of public acknowledgment. This is the second time this person is going after Trey and now, his team. Their first attempt was thrown out back in November after Trey’s team argued the allegations were past the statute of limitations.
Jane Doe’s SA Story Is Gut-Punching
The accuser again detailed their story in the newly filed lawsuit. She claimed to have been at a party in the West Hills of Los Angeles they were led to a bedroom by the “Mr. Steal Yo Girl” singer where they had consensual sex.
She agreed to another consensual encounter but once that time came around, the plans were a little different than the original proposition. Jane Doe claims that the singer then threw her to the ground and proceeded to brutally assault her while she screamed in pain.
After the encounter, her Lyft driver was said to be so concerned he drove her to a nearby hospital instead of home. She was examined and given sexual assault counseling. Jane Doe also shared in the lawsuit that Trey proceeded to harass her when they two would be out at the same places.
In one event at a New Year’s Eve party, Trey proceeded to hurl insults like “slut” and “lair” at them until he got security to kick her out.
Jane Doe Feared For Her Life
The victim was so scared of Trey Songz and all his power she moved to another state but was still threatened by another musician and friend of Trey who said, to “keep [Trey’s] name out her f***ing mouth or he’d kill her.”
Now, again, Jane Doe is claiming she has changed her hair color and is moving yet again to another state this year.
Trey Songz has been caught up in other legal battles, Jane Doe reminded the court of at least 10 other violent sexual accusations made against the singer in the recent past. The three incidents immediately before hers also gained a lot of attention yet, here we are.
