Salma Hayek Reveals Shocking Truth About Her Wedding To François-Henri Pinault

Salma Hayek's wedding to François-Henri Pinault was not as romantic as we thought!

The sensational actress needs no introduction as one of the most influential Latina actresses in Hollywood. With her voluptuous figure, timeless beauty, and skills, the Coatzacoalcos native remains a worldwide phenomenon at 56.

Despite her outstanding qualities, the "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" star has a few weaknesses. This includes her fear of marriage, a phobia her loved ones countered by betrothing her to her husband in a surprise ceremony.

When Hayek tied the knot to Pinault on Valentine's Day in 2009, fans thought it must have been the most romantic event. However, the Latina goddess recently revealed the truth behind her courthouse wedding.

During her cover interview for Glamour Magazine, the "Frida" actress revealed that she had no clue about her nuptials to the French fashion mogul. The TV personality was caught unawares as her family "dragged" her to the location.

"I didn't even know I was getting married that day," the entertainer confessed. "It was like an intervention. I don't think I ever told this story. No, they just took me to the court. My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me. I had a phobia of the marriage thing."

The Academy Award nominee noted that she was "nervous" as lunch with her in-laws followed the courthouse affair. Although Hayek praised her mother-in-law for being a fantastic host, the 56-year-old stated that she had "no choice" in the events. Additionally, saying "no" did not feel like a possible option.

"It was because I had said yes to the marriage, but I just wouldn't actually show up on the day or do it," the Latina heartthrob said. "And then afterward, I said, 'Oh, it's okay. I don't feel any different.' And then a little bit later, I said, 'Okay, this is kind of exciting.' And he's like, 'Can we have a party now?'"

Per Pinault's wishes, the spouses had a more lavish ceremony months later, better than their courthouse ceremony. Despite Hayek's fear of marriage, the 56-year-old appeared to be killing it as a wife with over a decade of marital bliss.

After 14 beautiful years together, the couple has a 15-year-old named Valentina Paloma. The "Desperado" actress serves as a fantastic stepmother to the Kering group CEO's three children from previous relationships.

However, the Emmy Award did not achieve her perfectly blended life by herself and credited Pinault as the man of her dreams. "I married a man who is very supportive, who saw things in me that I never even saw in myself," the Coatzacoalcos beauty gushed to the outlet.

As for how the lovebirds keep their passionate relationship burning, the "Eternals" actress admitted that the pair do not have any secret recipes for happiness. According to the Hollywood superstar, "boredom is underestimated."

"I didn't understand this for a long time," the 56-year-old explained. "Also, it helps that we met each other later in our lives. It’s okay just to do nothing and be together."

The Ventanarosa production company founder stated that sharing a space with your significant other meant going about your business while thinking of them. One should be connected and thoughtful, doing simple things like offering your partner a cup of tea.
