It seems that things might not be going so well for Britney Spears and Sam Asghari after all.
Although the two tried to paint a rosy picture of their relationship while they wore matching outfits on a trip to Target on Wednesday, several sources have come forward to claim that those close to the pop star are getting increasingly worried about her behavior.
Britney Spears Reportedly Has 'A Lot Of Anger' & Is 'Increasingly Combative'
On Thursday, sources told PEOPLE that Britney Spears is currently going through a difficult time. Her manager and her husband, Sam Asghari, reportedly planned an intervention for her that ended up falling through. That being said, she did meet with a doctor on Wednesday night, which reportedly “went well.”
However, at this time, it’s unclear what the next steps will be. "Britney has been acting increasingly erratically and those around her have grown more concerned," one source told the magazine. "She is often up all night, sleeps during [the] day, and has a lot of anger."
Another insider revealed that things have been “absolutely chaotic” and “very difficult” as those in Britney’s inner circle encourage her to seek help. "Everyone had hoped Britney could be convinced to seek treatment before things got any worse but they knew it wouldn't be easy," the source explained. "She's been going through a lot and has been increasingly combative."
The insider also said that Sam “is being as supportive as possible.” The couple married in June after six years of dating.
One Person Close To Britney Said ‘I’m Afraid She’s Gonna Die’
TMZ was the first to report the failed intervention on Thursday morning. One insider that has “regular contact” with Britney told the outlet “I’m afraid she’s gonna die” amid allegations that the 41-year-old pop star is struggling with her mental health and substance abuse.
Sources say that Britney has been “flying off the handle” and has alarmed those close to her with her “erratic, volatile behavior.” Additionally, she is reportedly “taking meds” that “hype her up” and “is not taking the medications that stabilize her.”
It was reported that Sam Asghari, her manager, an interventionist, and doctors were supposed to meet an “unsuspecting Britney” at a Los Angeles rental house on Tuesday, where she was supposed to get medical treatment and counseling.
However, the plan collapsed when Britney reportedly became “somewhat aware” of the plan. It was reported that her father, Jamie Spears, was not involved with the intervention.
Police Conducted A Welfare Check On Britney Last Month
Britney Spears has often used her Instagram account to vent her frustrations about her conservatorship. Last month, several fans became concerned when she deactivated her Instagram account and called local law enforcement to conduct a wellness check.
A spokesperson for the Ventura County Sheriff's Office told PEOPLE that they did indeed visit the singer’s home. "Out of an abundance of caution, we responded to her home for a check on her well-being and determined she was safe and in no danger," the spokesperson said.

In a brief Twitter message posted a few days later, Britney addressed the incident herself and said that the police never entered her residence.
“As everyone knows the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls. I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded,” Britney wrote. “The police never entered my home and when they came to my gate they quickly realized there was no issue and left immediately.”
“This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media,” she continued. “During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward.”
The last time that Britney posted on Instagram was on Tuesday, February 7, the day the intervention was supposed to have occurred. Her last video shows the singer wearing a white blouse underneath a black vest as she moves back and forth in front of the camera. The video can be seen below.
