'Punky Brewster' star Soleil Moon Frye has filed for divorce from her husband of 22 years, just days after she announced the couple had made the decision to split.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the legendary actress filed for dissolution of marriage at the L.A. County Courts. The legal filing came during the same week she went public announcing she was splitting from her husband for over two decades.

Frye filed the legal documents just 3 days after Christmas, on December 28.

"Soleil Moon Frye and Jason Goldberg quietly separated this year. Their priority will continue to be their four beautiful children as they move forward with love and compassion," a source told People.

As we reported, the couple was married in 1998 and share four children together -- daughters Poet Sienna Rose, 15, and Jagger Joseph Blue, 12, and sons Lyric Sonny Roads, 6, and Story, 4.

It's unclear if Frye is asking for sole custody of the children, but based on the long-term relationship and keeping the split quiet for as long as they did -- we are guessing they will share custody 50/50.

In the days prior to filing for divorce, Soleil shared a heartwarming photo of herself cuddling with her children with an obviously absent husband.

"Happy happy day after Christmas to all. Sending everyone so much love. So grateful to be safe & cuddled up with these loves," she posted alongside the photo of the kids. Adding, "As my girls and I love to say along with my life long friend forever @jennydianelewis 'It is one day closer to Christmas' Hope you are well. This room may represent some feelings of 2020. Xx ?."

Shockingly, the estranged couple actually renewed their vows in the presence of their children in 2008.

According to reports, the ceremony took place at the couple's Hollywood Hills home and was attended by celebrity friends like Demi Moore,Ashton Kutcher, and Eric Dane.

“Besides the days my children were born – and my first wedding – it was the best night of my life,” Frye said at the time, adding it was "magical."

In honor of the event, two of the couple's children planted a pomegranate tree in their yard, and friends who attended the ceremony were also sent home with a baby tree.

In the end, it's unclear if the couple has a prenuptial agreement, but based on the length of their marriage they will have to split up much of the family's assets.
