The 65th annual Grammys was a memorable occasion for multiple reasons. One of the night's best highlights was watching the "Set Fire To The Rain" songstress blush at Johnson's surprise appearance.

However, Adele's feelings were not one-sided, as the "Baywatch" star admitted to being the singer's admirer. "I've got to tell you, I am a huge fan of hers, as well — her music, her journey, her openness and directness in how she speaks. I've always admired that about her."

Given his love for the English songwriter, the former wrestler decided to kill two birds with a stone. He originally planned on attending the award show with his beautiful wife, Lauren Hashian, and decided to surprise the Golden Globe honoree.

Winston knew about the vocal powerhouse's love for the movie star and previously tried to connect them at the Tottenham native's "One Night Only" concert in 2021. Unfortunately, the Rock missed the opportunity and apologized for his absence by gifting Adele flowers.

Thanks to Winston's plan, the "Black Adam" star could finally make it up to the "Hello" singer. According to Johnson, they traded various ideas for a week, trying to create the perfect surprise for the 34-year-old.

"The key to a surprise like that is to actually keep it a surprise," the father-of-three explained. "Myself and the Grammys went to great lengths to make sure that Adele was authentically surprised at the moment, and she was."

The sweet moment went smoothly thanks to Grammys host Trevor Noah, who introduced the pair during his opening monologue. Johnson greeted Adele with a big smile and bear hug, a moment he recalled with glee. "It was just a great surprise, and I was able to chat with her a little bit and her boyfriend, Rich Paul," the entertainer gushed.

The little time they spent together seated at the same table took the Rock and Adele from strangers to best pals. As fate would have it, he had the opportunity to present a Grammy to his new BFF.

"I get up on stage, and I open that Grammy envelope, and it said 'Adele.' So that's why I was able to say, 'Get up here, best friend, Adele!' It was such a special night," the 50-year-old said before praising the Tottenham native as an inspirational icon.

The award marked her 16th Grammy. However, the moment was more significant for a particular reason. The English songwriter dedicated the trophy to her son, Angelo, who she shares with her ex-husband Simon Konecki.

During her speech, the "Someone Like You" artist momentarily paused for a shout-out to her lover, Paul Richie. "Oh god, Richie, he said, ‘don’t cry, if you win anything tonight, don’t cry!’ and here I am crying," the songstress lamented in the sports agent's voice.

Adele revealed that she wrote the first verse of "Easy On Me" in the shower while choosing to change Angelo's life for the best.
