Singer Britney Spears is singing again and fans are hoping that the 41-year-old pop star puts out even more clips that feature her singing in the new year.
On Monday night, the "Hold Me Closer" singer propped up her phone to record herself singing "Oops!...I Did It Again" in her natural voice!
Britney Spears Sings 'Oops!...I Did It Again' In Her Natural Voice
In her latest Instagram post, Britney shared a brief video clip that featured her singing. The camera is pointed away from her, but fans can still recognize her voice singing in the background.
In the caption, the “Toxic” singer wrote, “Have you guys heard !!! I’m a star ⭐️ now mamma !!! LOL 😂 just kidding !!! Most of this sounds pretty flat … but I liked DOING IT AGAIN !!! Wait OOPS 🙊 !!! That was so lame 😒 I know !!!”
She added, “All good in the neighborhood … as most smarta**es say !!! You gotta be kidding me !!! NOPE !!! I’m not !!! Oh kiss my fucking a** !!! AND stay classy beautiful people 💋💋💋 !!!"
Unfortunately, Britney disabled comments on her latest Instagram post so fans were unable to leave comments praising her singing ability. That being said, it's not the first time that Britney has shared footage of her singing a capella with her fans.
Fans Declare A 'Pop Emergency' As Britney Sings 'Baby One More Time' A Capella
Back in July, fans declared a “pop emergency’ when Britney posted a selfie video that featured her singing “Baby One More Time.” “This is me yesterday doing laundry and separating clothes 👚… ” Britney wrote in the caption. She went on to say that she hasn’t shared her voice in “an extremely long time” but decided to give her fans a “different version of “Baby” and wrote out a little bit of the chorus in her caption.
The “Toxic” singer said that she has been asking for a “different version” of the song for fourteen years “but as the TEAM said NO and serves me with 4 girls, my sister included, doing a 5 minute version of 4 remixed songs 🎥 to a T not even having to give effort or dance 💃🏼 … just shot it beautifully and the sound was NEW !!!”
Britney alleged that her producers “ruined it for me, embarrassed me and made me feel like absolutely nothing🙄🙄🙄 !!!” adding, “The truth is a f—ing bitch !!!” She added, “I share this because I am aware of my love and passion to sing … and my own family made a fool of me 😔 … I’m not going to be a victim !!!”
The "Slumber Party" singer wrote that “advanced musicians” might think that her natural voice is “horrible” or “bad,” but in Brit’s words, “well WHEN I’M BAD, I’M BETTER.”
The 41-year-old pop star added, “They made me feel like nothing … every single one of them !!! Like I said before … they took away my rights … my womanhood was ruined !!!”
BFF Paris Hilton commented, “Yes 👸🏼 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍” as fans praised her video. “I love your natural voice but I love more seeing you comfortable showing it to the world,” one fan commented. “Hit me with those vocals queen 👏,” wrote another follower. “Your deep natural voice is the best 😍😍,” a third fan gushed.
When Britney first released the video on July 15, 2022, the post was filled with positive comments. Now, unfortunately, they seem to be a lot more negative. “OK I guess I’ll be the one to say it. This sounds horrible and if this were not Britney Spears, everyone else would be dragging her voice through the mud,” one follower commented.
“Why can't she show her face when she's singing why does it have to be dark, I don't understand if she's really singing this song and it's really her what does she have to be in the dark,” another user chimed in. “This is not her voice; this is not her,” another follower alleged.
However, another fan said that this is “how her voice used to sound before they made her sing in a pop way. Seriously go watch old videos before she started her music career and you can see she had a beautiful soulful voice.”
With so many negative comments, it's not a surprise that Britney waited until February 2023 to share another video of her singing on Instagram.
