tWitch's death still feels surreal for his loved ones, especially his beloved mother. Connie's emotions were invoked during the recently held Grammys when her son's face flashed on the screen during the In Memoriam segment of the ceremony.
Following the segment, which honored various artists who died the year before, the matriarch reacted to the late "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" executive producer's inclusion on social media.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Connie shared a snapshot from the tribute, writing, "It will never seem real. I miss you! I love you to infinity and beyond. Keep shining bright for us!" She also included a white heart emoji and her son's initials with the hashtag "STB," with a white dove emoji and a broken red heart above it.
Another time Connie spoke publicly about tWitch was a few days after his unfortunate passing. The Blast reported that she shared a screenshot from a previous FaceTime call between her and her late son.
The television producer looked ready for a night on the town in a tuxedo that he paired with a bow tie and a Cuban link chain. His gaze is laser-focused on his mother, who appears to be saying something to him.
Across the picture, Connie wrote, "Oh if only I could FT to heavenโฆ." When the news of her son's death broke, the mother-of-two dedicated a message to supporters that partially read:
"Family and friends, thank you for all the love, prayers, and encouragement. I can't use words right now. Please know I will reach out when I can."
Connie concluded her statement with an appeal for fans to keep the Boss family in their prayers, adding a personal note to her boy, "Stephen Laurel, your mother loves you to eternity and beyond. ๐ ๐.โ His wife, Holker, has also issued a statement, saying:
"Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends, and community above all else, and leading with love and light was everything to him."
As for the Grammys In Memoriam, tWitch was included in the emotional segment for his work in dance. The "Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings" co-host attained fame after contesting on MTV's "The Wade Robson Project" and becoming a runner-up on "Star Search."
The late choreographer also competed on "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2008, wrapping up the fourth season as a runner-up and making a comeback as an "All-Star" later. Additionally, he served as a judge when the reality dance show returned in 2022.
The 'Modern Family' Guest Star Was Moved By His Photos From A Clothing Ad
More information has come to light about tWitch in the weeks after his death. The Blast, the "Bones" star was inspired by the Gap x The Brooklyn Circus (The BKc) campaign he participated in. The ad showed him rocking different clothing items from the Haitian-owned menswear brand in a slew of black-and-white photos.
For the video version of the campaign, tWitch is seen bursting out the dance moves that made him famous, smiling, and even laughing during the shoot. Joining millions to mourn the loss of the actor, a press release from the collaborative effort read:
"The Brooklyn Circus and Gap share in the heartbreaking loss of beloved icon Stephen' tWitch' Boss, who was a longtime supporter of the BKc community, [founder and creative director] Ouigi's work and a core part of this campaign thanks to his personal friendship with Ouigi Theodore."
Speaking on her husband's feelings regarding the final results of the campaign, Holker stated, "When Stephen and I first saw his images from the campaign, it brought tears to our eyes. He was so moved by how they captured his true essence, and he was excited for the world to see them."
The mom-of-three added that tribute to tWitch's life would be paid by "sharing these images in homage to the joy and light he brought to everyone around him."
