LeBron James Wishes He Could Do 'Normal Things'; 'It Can Be Challenging At Times'

LeBron James is probably one of the best-known NBA players in the league, so it's not easy for him to do "normal things" that many people may take for granted. Being able to walk around a store or just take a walk through a park without being bothered is a normal occurrence for most people, but not James who wishes he could do those kinds of things without being noticed.
LeBron James Wishes He Could Do "Normal Things"
During a recent interview with the New York Times, James, 38, explains what it's like to always be in the public eye. "I don't want to say it ever becomes too much, but there are times when I wish I could do normal things," he said. "I wish I could just walk outside. I wish I could just, like, walk into a movie theater and sit down and go to the concession stand and get popcorn."
And it doesn't stop there. It's tough for him to do basically anything in public without someone noticing him. "I wish I could just go to an amusement park just like regular people," he continued. "I wish I could go to Target sometimes and walk into Starbucks and have my name on the cup just like regular people."
While it can be frustrating for the NBA icon, he's not exactly complaining about what he can't do. "I'm not sitting here complaining about it, of course not," he added. "But it can be challenging at times."
LeBron James Is About To Cross A Huge Accomplishment Off His List
In the midst of his 20th NBA season, James is about to make big waves, and soon. He's 36 points behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points in NBA history. James will cross that line in the same amount of years that Abdul-Jabbar played.
This amazing moment will join a long list of accomplishments the Lakers star has already completed. He's a four-time MVP and has finished in the top five of the MPV voting more than 12 times, won four NBA championships, named to 19 All-Star games, is a four-time finals MVP and has been the AP Male Athlete of the Year four times. And let's not forget that 20 seasons in the league is a feat in itself.
It appears that James will break the record of Abdul-Jabbar's 38,387 points during Tuesday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder or Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks. So, by the end of the week, he should be able to celebrate that big win.
LeBron James Wasn't Exactly Excited About The Kyrie Irving Trade News
It's been an emotionally charged week for James waiting to break the points record, and then the ups and downs of a possible trade that could have been a game changer for the Lakers. When the news dropped that Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving was seeking a trade on Friday, talk quickly turned to the possibility of him going to the Lakers.
After it was announced on Sunday that he's headed to the Dallas Mavericks, James tweeted just three words that had everyone thinking he's deep in his feels over the trade, as the Lakers could have benefitted from such an addition.
