Jennifer Aniston is facing mass backlash over her decision to feature a COVID-themed ornament in her Christmas photo. The 51-year-old "Friends" star is being branded both "out of touch" and "foolish" for posting a snap suggesting we're in "our first pandemic," with fans saying that COVID-19 ain't a baby shower. Jennifer took to her Instagram stories over the holiday period, posting a close-up of her hand holding a circular Christmas tree ornament: "Our first pandemic 2020" was written on it. Scroll for the photo. It comes as Aniston largely makes positive headlines for encouraging fans to both wear masks and social distance. While the story wasn't a permanent post and will disappear after 24 hours, it's made its way to the Twittersphere, where fans aren't impressed.

"Dude, Jennifer Aniston," one fan wrote with an eye-roll emoji: "All celebrities have done during this pandemic is show how out of touch and just [sic] oblivious they are to anything that doesn't have to do with them."

Others, meanwhile, slammed America's OG sweetheart, calling her a "damn fool for posting that ornament on her story...celebrities are ditzy af," they stated.

"Cheers to our first pandemic of 2020, where millions of people died! Let's celebrate that on a Christmas ornament!" another exclaimed.

Coronavirus, which originated in Wuhan, China and quickly found itself swamping the U.S., has now claimed over 1.7 million deaths worldwide and over 340,000 U.S. deaths. More people are now dying per day from COVID in the U.S. than died in 9/11.

Scroll for more photos. In July, Jennifer posted a hospital photo of a young man on a ventilator as he battled the virus. "The Morning Show" host painted a real picture, writing:

"This is our friend Kevin. Perfectly healthy, not one underlying health issue. This is Covid. This is real."

"We can't be so naive to think we can outrun this...if we want this to end, and we do, right? The one step we can take is PLEASE #wearadamnmask," she added. More below.

Aniston, who confirmed the man has now recovered, added: "Just think about those who've already suffered through this horrible virus. Do it for your family. And most of all yourself. Covid affects all ages."

Meanwhile, a summer masked selfie of the actress came with what seemed to be a genuine and macro understanding of the pandemic and its side effects.

"I understand masks are inconvenient and uncomfortable. But don’t you feel that it’s worse that businesses are shutting down... jobs are being lost... health care workers are hitting absolute exhaustion," Aniston began, once again pleading with fans to wear masks and not turn the wearing of one into a political affair.
