On February 1, 42-year-old Jessica Simpson took to Instagram with a question for her fans, asking, "Want to hear a pretty wild story?"

No fan would say no to that, and Simpson continued after the rhetorical question. "Well, I found some words that were locked away in a secret journal, one I never thought I’d open again. Through the process of shooting the pilot for Open Book, I was reminiscing about my experiences in the mid-2000s…"

The mother-of-three delved into her past, back when she was in her mid-20s and kissing frogs to find her prince. Continued Simpson, "my mid-20s after divorce and all the frogs on a dream list to kiss in hopes to find a prince. Only my closest and loyal circle of friends have heard this story I am sharing with anyone whose ears are needing some good ole girlfriend storytelling tied with a bow of self-worth, Movie Star - they always say they’re single is out today on Amazon Original Stories. A fantasy-become-reality romance gone sideways, to say the least."

Not everyone was on the same page, it seems as one comment read: "Well unfortunately you can't read or listen for free on prime. I just checked and they want you to pay for this book. Bad advertising here."

In her essay, Simpson revised a chapter in her life, back when she was involved in a hot but secret affair with an A-list movie star. At the time, she and Nick Lachey were on a break and she met the said megastar at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards. In the short essay, Simpson writes, "This megastar, who I grew up thinking was so hot, eyeballed me up and down. Like he was undressing me with his eyes."

At the time, the sparks may have flown, but nothing really happened. Later, the two ran into a gym again, in LA and she offered to work with him for an undisclosed music video. While the said star made "millions and millions per film", she offered him, "You could be my lead guy."

The star did reach out to Simpson but by that time, she and Lachey were back together. Soon after, Simpson married Lachey but when the marriage broke apart, the secret affair started. In her essay, Simpson wrote that she and the movie star kissed at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and everything felt perfect, "I felt this warm rush all the way down my body to the tips of my toes in my wedges."

But after the magic was over, she spotted a picture of him with another woman on the red carpet. Her mystery man assured her that he only wanted her, telling Simpson, "You’re the only girl I want to be with. You’re it."

When this hunk made her sneak into his hotel room through the fire stairs and then got agitated over the fact that they didn’t immediately jump into bed, Simpson felt let down. She wrote, “Yes, there was something sexy and enticing about all this, but there was also something demeaning about it. I felt like a call girl."

She also wrote, "I didn’t care if he was my teenage fantasy come to life, this was not a choice that same girl, my younger self, would be proud of." The affair was over when Jessica left the next morning while the actor was on set, and later, he called her "weeping."

Everyone on Instagram wanted to know who the guy was, and there were plenty of names thrown around. Last we tallied, they were: Jared Leto, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey, Bradley Cooper, and even Tom Cruise. But the only name mentioned repeatedly was Marky Mark, as in Mark Wahlberg!
