John Legend Shares Happy Coincidence Behind Newborn's Name

John Legend's newborn's name might have a special meaning though it was a coincidence.  

The family of the "All Of Me" crooner got bigger on 13th January with the addition of one adorable baby girl — Esti Maxine Stephens — making the little one the third child he shares with his wife, Chrissy Teigen, the mother of his beautiful toddlers, Luna Simone and Miles Theodore.

However, in a recent update, the 44-year-old revealed that his new daughter's name has special familial ties even though his wife randomly thought of the name. John is convinced that her name is a happy coincidence.

During an interview with E! News, the father of three opened up about his family and the significance of his daughter's name. The "So High" musician sat down with the news outlet's correspondent Courtney Lopez, mentioning that the little one's name was not in connection to anyone. Legend confessed:

"It wasn't intentionally after someone, but once Chrissy told me that idea, I was like, 'Oh, my great-grandmother's name was Esther."

In addition to his daughter's first name, the "Green Light" singer also shared that her middle name is tied to another family member. In the father-of-four's words, "We wanted to already name her middle name Maxine after my grandmother, whose middle name was Maxine. So, it's a lot of my family in the name."

Legend and Chrissy's third child's name has been a hot topic since the new mom announced it on her Instagram page earlier last month. A report from The Blast noted that fans of the family had a lot to say concerning the name.

Per reports, several people took to the post's comment section to congratulate the new parents. One enthusing fan wrote, "So unbelievably happy for you!!!! Many congratulations ? and lots of love to all of you!!!!

The tot's name should mean "Star," but a deeper dive into the comments revealed that the name has another meaning, which was pretty unexpected. A particular person wrote, "Everyone in Quebec like ?," while another tagged their friend, dishing, "Their daughter's name is Esti ? I find it weird seeing "Esti ❤️" all over the comments ?."

After an admirer congratulated them, they noted that "Esti is bad word in French ??," with another reiterating, "omg « esti » is a curse word in french. НАНАНАННАНА."

The Twitter space was no different as one user tweeted, "not chrissy teigen and john legend naming their baby a quebec swear word BYE ?." A second fan quipped, "Why is the whole of Quebec under Chrissy Teigen and John Legend ig posts calling their daughter all types of esti because her name is Esti."

A bilingual person noted, "I guess nobody told @chrissyteigen that her daughter's name sounds the same as the French Canadian swear word "Hostie," which is the wafer given at communion." With all the commotion that arose, the Television host had to limit the comments on her announcement post.

Fans of the lovebirds were not shocked when they immediately reverted to their playful social media personalities after the birth of their daughter, especially from the mother of three, who is known for being outspoken. The Blast recently noted how she joked about a personal habit of her husband.

The star took to her Instagram Story to repost a snap from @simonholland, which read: "Made it to that level of marriage where you get in trouble for being able to fall asleep so fast." Across the post, the model tagged her man, outing him as the person the remarks referred to. 

Also noted in the report was an instance the author confessed to using a random soundtrack in their baby-making sessions. She reposted a clip that began with the question, "What song have you gotten railed to the most?" And immediately, the scene cut to somewhere else where the intro song for the popular series "Friends" began to play.

Indeed, Teigen divulging such information to the public was meant to reveal parts of the celebrity couple's sex life, and she seems to have the audience for that.
