It seems that actress Alyssa Milano has apologized to singer Britney Spears after the pop star took issue with a tweet from last December.

On December 20, 2022, the 50-year-old actress tweeted, “Someone please go check on Britney Spears.” It appears that the tweet only recently caught the "Toxic" singer's attention, as the 41-year-old pop star took to her Instagram Stories to call out the “Charmed” actress for bullying.

On Tuesday night, Britney took to her Instagram Stories to share a screenshot of the tweet, along with a harsh message: “It saddens me to see things about me from people who don’t know me !!! This definitely feels like a form of bullying !!! Ladies, we are supposed to be rooting for one another not pulling one another down !!!”

On Wednesday afternoon, a rep for the “Mistresses” actress told TMZ that Alyssa had privately reached out to Britney Spears to apologize to her directly for the insensitive tweet. It’s unclear what Alyssa said in her private DM to the singer, or if Britney accepted her apology, but the insider did say that Alyssa expressed “support” for Britney in her message.

This isn’t the first time that Britney has had to deal with unwanted attention about her social media presence. Last Tuesday, the "Slumber Party" singer deactivated her Instagram account, which is something that she has done several times in the past.

However, this time, several fans called law enforcement officials and asked them to conduct a welfare check on the pop star. The incident went viral, prompting Britney to issue a formal response on Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

Britney Asks Fans To Respect Her Privacy After Welfare Check

In a brief Twitter message, the "Oops!...I Did It Again" singer told her fans that her privacy was "invaded" and asked her fans to respect her privacy "moving forward."

“As everyone knows the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls. I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded," Britney wrote. "The police never entered my home and when they came to my gate they quickly realized there was no issue and left immediately.”

“This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media," she continued. "During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward.”
