Babyface’s divorce from his second wife Nicole Pantenburg is final. He is still on the hook for child support and spousal support.
Babyface & Nicole Pantenberg Split Amicably
Babyface filed for separation from his wife back in the summer of 2021 and it only took him a few days to realize that divorce was the answer. The multi-platinum singer and his now ex-wife have been figuring out the logistics of their marriage and it is said to have been amicable.
The two have agreed on joint legal and joint physical custody of their daughter Peyton Nicole Edmonds, 14. She is the only child between the couple but the singer also has two other children with former wife and model Tracey Edmonds.
According to the documents, Babyface, whose real name is Kenneth Edmonds has agreed to pay $37,000 per month for both child and spousal support.
Nicole Pantenberg Car Will Be Paid For
The actress who has credits including That 70s Show and Chasing Papi to her name will also have her daughter's credit card charges maintained and Babyface will continue making lease payments on the Cadillac Escalade and continue to pay the car insurance for that car as well.
Babyface will continue being the doting dad and pay for his daughter’s health insurance and private school tuition. Having this as a stipulation noted is odd normally when child support is awarded, healthcare is included in it. Is Nicole hinting at something shady?
Peyton is only 14 but her parents are already thinking about college. The divorce agreement says that the singer/songwriter will pay 65% of the costs for Peyton to take college tour trips. As for Nicole, will be responsible for 35% of Peyton’s costs and all of her own costs on those trips. He's paying her enough in spousal support already.
Babyface Will Be Performing Soon
Now that the divorce is out of the way, Babyface can focus on his Super Bowl performance. He is linking up with Country crooner Chris Stapleton who will perform the national anthem ahead of the highly anticipated game.
Babyface will follow with "America the Beautiful" On the Feb. 12 airing of the game. He joins a host of performers including actor and singer Sheryl Lee Ralph who will sing "Lift Every Voice and Sing," riding high off of her Emmy win for Abbott Elementary at the top of the year.
Oscar winner Troy Kotsur of CODA fame will perform the national anthem in American Sign Language. "America the Beautiful" will be signed by Colin Denny, and "Lift Every Voice and Sing" will be signed by Justina Miles.
Jay-Z and Roc Nation are producing the show which is probably how they got Rihanna to come out of unofficial music retirement to perform the coveted halftime show.
Babyface is the perfect choice for the emotional song, he has won 12 Grammys and co-founded Laface Records with L.A Reid. He has written or performed (or both) with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Madonna, Diddy, the late, great, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, and even newbies like Ella Mai still want a piece of the musical genius.
Babyface will be alright following this divorce.
