Beyoncé announced her ‘Renaissance’ world tour datesand they are rolling out as early as this summer!
Are You Seeing Bey This Year?
Beyonce announced her highly anticipated world tour for her viral album Renaissance is finally happening. The singer announced the tour today with over 40 stops beginning in Stockholm on May 10.
It surprised fans that she wasn’t beginning her tour in the US but the first leg of the US dates begins soon after, July 12th to be exact in Philly! But before the US Toronto gets two dates July 8 & 9.
The tour ends in New Orleans on Sept 27. Along the way, the 41-year-old will also stop in Louisville, Detroit, New York, Atlanta, and many more which will surely be memorable for those who are able to snag tickets.
Beyonce Tickets Could Break The Bank
In the past, fans have admitted to passing up paying rent to get Beyonce tickets and merchandise off her website and then the exclusive merch at the actual shows. It has become a running joke but the singer’s tickets are known to be a little pricey.
The last big tour Beyonce did was "The Formation" tour in 2016 for her sixth studio album Lemonade. The ticket prices back then averaged around $355. As prices dropped closer to some shows that still magically hadn’t sold out, tickets were going for about $108. And these aren't the VIP prices, those would freak you out.
Page Six exclusively revealed the news back in September that Beyonce would be going on tour with her new dance-inspired album.
Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’ Shocked Fans
Loyal Beyonce followers are embracing her new side with this album is very unlike her other albums and pays homage to dance artists like Grace Jones and Robin S. Hits like “Cuff It”, “Cozy” and “Church Girl”, and “Break My Soul” have quickly become viral on different levels.
The album also features creature comforts for the culture like “I’m That Girl,” and “Plastic Off the Sofa,” a much nicer ode to her husband than the Lemonade hits that called out his funky behavior in the past.
This is Bey’s first world tour since 2018’s “On The Run II” tour. The singer is supposedly geared up and ready to tour especially after seeing the love and support for the album.
Beyonce Has The Dubai Controversy To Get Past
We wonder if Beyonce is trying to overshadow the bad look from her Dubai show. While fans were initially enamored by the show and how stunning Beyonce looked, they eventually realized that she is doing this show in Dubai.
The problem here is the country’s attitude towards the LGBTQ+ community. Most of, if not all of Bey’s songs from her new album are repping that community. So to sing a song meant to honor Grace Jones in Dubai would be pointless and offensive.
It was reported that Bey never performed songs from her new album. The videos and rifts going viral right now are from “Drunk in Love” and the show was invitation only for the opening of the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai.
The debate is still going on but we doubt this will stop fans from purchasing tickets to the upcoming tour.
