Pamela Anderson knows she will cause a stir with her new memoir!
Known for her frequent modeling in Playboy magazine and appearances on the popular hit show, "Baywatch," she made headlines when the sex tape she recorded with her husband at the time, Tommy Lee, was stolen and leaked.
With her new book, "Love, Pamela," alongside a Netflix documentary, "Pamela, a Love Story," the actress seeks to end years of being stereotypically typecast by the public, but not without ruffling a few feathers first.
Pamela Anderson Predicts New Book Might Annoy Ex-husband's Wife
Revealing a side that is unexpected to many people is what the 55-year-old hopes to do with the much-talked-about memoir, and she knows that there might be some casualties after its release.
With the buzz going on about its contents, it has only served to spring the star back into the spotlight that is shining even brighter. Per an interview with WSJ, the star touched on many parts of her life, and it was noted that she had no help with the writing, preferring to write it herself to keep the authenticity.
Parts of the memoir saw stories about when she watched her father drown kittens and how she was sexually abused and raped. The horrible effects on her career by the released tape in the late 90s were also covered, as was her marriage to Tommy Lee.
She recounts how she tied the knot with her first husband, rock drummer Tommy Lee, after four days of meeting him. "Tommy must have slipped something special in my champagne.
The room got warm and fuzzy, and my skin felt like butter, even softer than usual," she wrote in her memoir. She added that he just asked her to marry him, and she agreed without a second thought and only remembered to ask him what his last name was afterward.
Although the pair have made up since then and keep in touch once in a while, the "Home Improvement" guest star disclosed that he had not yet read the book and was sure that his current wife would be upset with the contents. "I'm sure it's going to be annoying to his wife," she said while admitting that if it were her as well, she would be annoyed also.
With both of them moving on to have separate lives, the fact that she almost committed suicide with Advils and vodka because of the rockstar's violent fits towards her seems so far away.
The Blast shared that the "Barb Wire" actress revealed details about what led to his outburst of anger. It was all because of a steamy scene from "Baywatch," where she had to kiss her co-star David Chokachi – her love interest on the show.
She explained to The Guardian that she did not tell the Mötley Crüe member about it beforehand, he got jealous and upset due in part to his possessiveness. Anderson disclosed that the 60-year-old lost it after it happened, adding:
"He trashed my trailer on the set and put his fist through a cabinet. I apologized for not telling him — lying, as he put it — and told him it wouldn't happen again."
'Blonde and Blonder' Actress Lost A Lot Of Weight While Writing Memoir
Being actively involved in any creative process will take a toll on anyone, which is what happened to the author, who shared that deciding to write her book without help affected her.
The Blast reported that she noted that it was not an easy ordeal and that it led her to gain weight and then lose it after. She said as much while on "The Howard Stern Show" and explained that it was because she had to write it all herself.
While reflecting on the process, she noted, "It was crazy, but I had a physical reaction to telling my story," adding, "It was almost like I was hanging on to something. It was protective… my puffy suit of armor. I don't know what it was. I was thinking it was some kind of protection."
Per New York Post, she recalled being very unkempt during that period, as she said further, "so I liked that I peeled back everything: No makeup, nothing like that, and I thought, You know what? If you like me like this — if you like me at my worst, maybe you like me."
