“I’m going on a solo arena tour. I began my career on stage with only a guitar and a microphone. A lot has changed since then, but I knew one day I’d feel it in my heart to do an entire run of shows on my own again, just like those early days,” Mayer wrote. “It took a couple of decades, but I feel it now. I’ll be playing old songs. Newer songs. Songs you haven’t heard yet that I’ll be road testing - all on acoustic, electric, and piano.”
For Mayer fans tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, February 3rd at 9AM and presale begins Wednesday, February 1st.
Gigi Hadid commented, “!!”
John Mayer Is Going On An Acoustic Tour
Zane Carney replied, “This is gonna be insane!!! One of my favorite memories from our Born and Raised/Paradise Valley run was listening to you play Walt Grace from side stage whenever you pulled that one out in the middle of the set. People aren’t ready for how amazing these solo shows are gonna be! ❤️❤️❤️”
“He’s done it again,” and “John Solo. May the force be with you,” were other comments left on his announcement.
Mayer appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in December.
Cooper asked Mayer about his upcoming music plans.
When asked what “metaphorically” keeps him up at night, the singer revealed, “Whether I should put out a whole record as my next release or a song at a time. Can’t tell.”
He explained that if you release an entire record you have about a week of popularity and buzz.
“But a song at a time out, you get repeated shots. Repeated looks at the ball,” he explained.
Well, it looks like he’s scrapped this idea and is going to put it all into his solo arena tour.
Cooper also asked about the feeling he gets when performing onstage in front of thousands of fans.
“Father Cooper” shared Mayer’s news and captioned the screenshot, “DADDY GANG I’m convinced we had something to do with this… he’s back!! A full acoustic tour just him k I’ll be there who else is going? @johnmayer we appreciate you.”
Mayer reposted Cooper’s IG Story and replied to her writing, “You absolutely did, @alexandracooper @callherdaddy.”
