While the much-awaited coronation of the King of the United Kingdom, King Charles III, is four months away, preparations are in order and set to include the reunion of the iconic Spice Girls.

Scheduled for sometime in May, the momentous occasion may mark the award-winning British girl group's first performance in more than a decade, following their trailblazing reign from the nineties.

The Spice Girls May Reunite To Perform At King Charles III's Coronation

The five Spice Girls comprising Melanie Brown' Mel B,' Melanie Chrisholm' Mel C,' Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, and Victoria Beckham, seem to be a major element in the upcoming coronation, to be held as a three-day celebration from Saturday, May 6.

The Sun reports that Royal organizers want the star group to perform, and if the reunion comes to pass, it will be the females' first performance together since the 2012 Olympic closing ceremony.

Additionally, the event planners were said to be eager to include them as the "star signing" for the occasion, and the women are "seriously pondering" joining in the "historical event."

The insider noted, "Royal organisers are super keen to secure Britain’s biggest girl band and the Spice Girls are seriously pondering a return to the stage as a five-piece for such a historical event. Certainly, the reality is that the Coronation is as special as The Olympics - a one off celebration and unique performance."

Mel B and Mel C, OG stars from the group, are reportedly working towards making the job happen while also trying to convince their bandmates to participate. A week before the news of their inclusion, Mel C stressed that the group was not thrilled about not performing at the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee Concert last June. She explained:

"With us girls, there is so much that we would like to do, but there are four, five people involved with families and other commitments and responsibilities. So, I think that was something that we had to miss."

Meanwhile, Mel B, in a recent interview, insinuated that the coronation event would include all five original members of the group created in 1994.  She said, "I'm probably going to get told off. It is a project that we're very excited about. It will be all five of us."

Since the band came to prominence in the nineties, they have achieved significant feats with several chart-topping songs; however, they split in 2000, two years after Halliwell went her way to go solo.

Seven years later, the women reunited, with Beckham breaking away after the Olympics and the others remaining together until their most recent show for a stadium tour in 2019. Mel C spoke to The Times about Beckham's possible return not long ago. She stated, "That would be the ultimate dream. The door is always open for Victoria; we would love to see her back."

Not only is she keen to have the fashion designer back, but she also "longs to be back on stage" with fellow bandmate Bunton whom she told in her 47th birthday tribute. In her words, "Happy Birthday, @emmaleebunton. I love you more than words can say. I long to be back on stage with my baby. Let's hope we don't need to wait too much longer! Have the best day, beautiful."

While fans stay tuned to Spice Girls-related news ahead of the coronation, they can certainly look forward to seeing the King officially put into power by the Archbishop of Canterbury, as reported by The Blast. The coronation event is set to take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and would not be as elaborate as the late Queen's coronation in 1953, given the state of the nation's finances.

Nevertheless, it will be a royal affair in all its glory and "reflect the monarch's role today and look toward the future while rooted in long-standing traditions and pageantry." Alongside the monarch, his wife of close to two decades, Camilla Parker-Bowles, who is also the Queen Consort, will be coronated on the special day.

Not to mention, important figures from around the world will grace the event, where King Charles will be crowned with Saint Edward's 22-carat gold crown upon taking the oath.

King Charles III's Youngest Son Will Not Be Included In His Coronation Ceremony

Although the royal coronation is a family affair, the King's second son, Prince Harry, has been excluded from the event considering his allegations in the excerpts of his controversial memoir "Spare."

The Blast reported that a Sunday Times Royal editor announced a few days into January that "Prince Harry has been written out of the script for the Coronation, with no official role in the service if he attends." Only his brother, Prince William, will follow tradition by performing the "duke role" of kneeling and paying homage to the monarch.

Speaking of Harry's upcoming memoir, he accused William of several things, including physically assaulting him, which the older sibling did not publicly react to but chose to stay quiet for "the good of his family and the country."
