January Jones has received a threatening letter, so it would seem – all about her "desperate cry for attention" bikini snaps. The 42-year-old "Mad Men" actress' Tuesday Instagram update was one giant joke as she posted what looked like hate mail, although her followers were quick to pick up on the tongue-in-cheek action. January, this year in the news for joking she's unemployed while in a bikini, kidded that her "secret" had been discovered. Scroll for the very amusing post below.

Scroll for the best photos, including the "unemployed" one. January's post was a photo of a letter opening: "To Whom It May Concern." The blonde appeared to be told that The National Enquirer was "preparing to publish a story" reporting the actress has having "worried friends with her series of attention-grabbing bikini pictures and social media posts."

"Sources claim her content smacks of a "desperate cry for attention" and note how her acting work appears to have dried up before the pandemic took hold."

The letter closed with an "If you have a statement or wish to comment, please provide it before 5 pm ET Wednesday, December 9, 2020," with an email address blanked out.

A caption from January then read: "Sh-t. They've discovered my secret. Consider this my public apology to my "friends.""

The letter was signed by Dan Dolan. He is, effectively, the Editor-in-Chief at The National Enquirer. Oops. January, who starred on "Mad Men" from 2007-2015, is technically lowered in work, with 2020 series "Spinning Out" canceled after just one season.

January's 1 million Instagram followers have been responding. A popular comment told the star she'd probably still post bikini snaps anyway, with many likes left to a reply reading:

"Oooo Dan Dan I have a statement Dan! We are all so worried about Jan- her photos have somehow become even hotter and more stunning in quarantine and we are all trying to figure out why our sweatpants are suddenly so tight. It’s not about us Dan it must be her. With love- Jans friends."

January, whose Instagram includes her pandemic self-care, high-end nightgowns, and those killer bikini shots, is now getting told that she's doing the updates just right. Actor Nick Viall swooped into the comments section to tell Jones: "Sounds like they are mad you're doing Instagram right."

"Hahahaha!!! Oh my God Jan. What are they going to say next. That aliens have invaded your timeline?" came from Jaime King.

January also clocked herself a sweet 28,000 likes in an hour for the post. Scroll for those sheer nighties.
