The Walt Disney Company is turning 100 this year and to celebrate, Disney is bringing the festivities to Disneyland Resort in California.
Disney Parks recently described the upcoming celebration as, “Disney100 will celebrate our incredible storytellers and creators, along with the fans and families who’ve brought us into their hearts, as they together spark the magic and wonder of Disney. This celebration honors the journey we’ve been on and the memories we’ve created together, and it will bring new experiences with our beloved characters along with heartwarming new stories.”
The happenings begin this Friday at Happiest Place on Earth and to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime milestone, Disney Parks will be livestreaming the Disney100 Celebration from Disneyland Resort in California.
Disney100 Celebration at Disneyland Resort
Disney Parks Blog shared the incredible news of the livestream, stating, “to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime milestone being celebrated at Disneyland Resort all year long, you can join in the festivities from wherever you are, as we live stream special performances, behind-the-scenes looks at the new entertainment, fun Disney trivia, and more!”
Some of the things viewers can see from the Disneyland Resort include all-new nighttime spectaculars “World of Color – ONE” and “Wondrous Journeys,” the new attraction Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, an exciting new exhibit, and more!
The Happiest Place on Earth will also receive new “platinum-infused décor throughout the resort” to commemorate 100 years, including on Disneyland’s icon, Sleeping Beauty Castle. “Celebrating wonder, the castle will be adorned with elegant platinum banners and bunting, accented by a magnificent cabochon featuring the three Good Fairies who illuminate it with their shimmering pixie dust,” Disney Parks Blog previously shared before adding, “Two majestic water fountains will grace either side of the moat, while a beautiful wishing star will sparkle from the tower above.”

New Fireworks Show “Wondrous Journeys” At Disneyland
Just for the milestone celebration, Disneyland Park in California will be bringing a brand-new fireworks show called “Wondrous Journeys.”
When describing the new show, Disney Parks Blog previously shared, “Each evening at Disneyland park, ‘Wondrous Journeys’ transforms Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America into an artist’s canvas with lighting effects, customized projections and more.”
Disney Parks Blog added, “This nighttime spectacular by Disney Live Entertainment will take you on an epic adventure through 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios storytelling. On select nights, “Wondrous Journeys” takes to the skies with sparkling fireworks. Check out this behind-the-scenes look at the recording session for the show’s original song, ‘It’s Wondrous’.”
“World of Color – ONE”
But that’s not all because at Disney California Adventure, a new nighttime show will also debut to celebrate 100 years of storytelling.
Disney Parks Blog shared, “This all-new nighttime spectacular at Disney California Adventure park celebrates the storytelling legacy started by Walt Disney, illustrating how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change. This is the first Disneyland Resort nighttime spectacular to feature characters, music and moments from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, the Avengers and Star Wars in the same production.”
The Disney100 Celebration will kick off this Friday, January 27 at Disneyland Resort in California.
