Sheck Wes Gets Signed By French Basketball Team After Going Undrafted In NBA Draft

Sheck Wesis known as a rapper but lately, has been looking to achieve hoop dreams. On the day of the 2020 NBA Draft, he took to social media to claim that he had declared for it. This did not happen though as the New York rapper claimed that all the teams who passed on him would regret it. Wes then became more confident as he said he would be selected by an NBA team in the 2021 draft.

Wes ended up releasing a new record titled "Been Ballin" as motivation after being passed on by all 30 NBA teams. He received some very good news for his basketball career though as he signed a contract with a division 2 French basketball team located in Paris. This squad is the Paris Basketball Team. They play their games in the Division 2 League. Wes then took to social media to express his excitement to be able to get on the court.

"I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THE Maoda," said Wes on his Instagram feed. I WILL BE TAKING MY TALENTS OVERSEAS TO THE BEAUTIFUL CITY OF PARIS TO JOIN @paris.basket CLUB, STAY TUNED, PARIS MON TELEPHONE SONNE TOUJOURS."

It turns out the Paris Basketball Team noticed Wes' basketball highlights on YouTube. They ended up being very impressed with what they saw and decided to offer him a roster spot. This may also be a route that Wes has to take in order to reach the NBA.

"@SheckWes entered the draft yesterday but was unsuccessful. We have seen the workouts, we want to give it a chance."  

As a player, Wes is listed at 6'2, weighing 190 pounds, and having a 7'0 wingspan. After originally finding out that he didn't get drafted by the NBA, Wes created a parody video of him getting drafted by his hometown New York Knicks. His work in Paris could possibly get him to this position though. Excel overseas, get to the G League, then NBA.

Back in 2018, Wes began to see success in the music industry after his single, "Mo Bamba," began to take off following its original 2017 release. The title of the record is named after the center for the Orlando Magic. Bamba was selected sixth overall in the 2018 draft. Wes would then go on to get signed by Travis Scott to his Cactus Jack record label. Wes' debut studio album, "Mudboy," was released in October of that year and peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 chart. It has since been certified gold by the RIAA in the US.
