Tom Brady, 45, has been in the headlines a lot as of late.
Not only did he go through a divorce with his now ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, but he just recently lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs, ending his 2022 season with the NFL.
As Brady tries to move past the tough loss, the 45-year-old quarterback is now admitting he wants to see his kids fail.
Why Does Tom Brady Want His Kids To Fail?
On Monday’s episode of his “Let’s Go!” podcast, the NFL quarterback admitted he wants his kids to fail, for aa good reason. “I told them that this morning," Brady explained in regard to failing. "I said, ‘I want you guys to fail because I want to see what you’re made of if you fail and when you fail.'”
“Life isn’t going to be just a smooth ride. So, we’ve got to develop resiliency,” Brady added. “In life, you try a lot of things, and you fail. It’s part of life. We try things, we really push ourselves to try … something new, and it doesn’t go the way we want."
The 45-year-old quarterback continued to say, “So, what do you do? Do you care less? Do you care more? Or do you take that experience for what it was and you try to learn from it and grow from it and find the resilience we all want to teach our children?”
When Brady was asked by his co-host if he thinks his children are afraid to fail, he responded with, “I think naturally it’s probably hard for everybody in our society to feel like you can fail or you can say the wrong thing. There are heavy repercussions to even admitting you fail.”
Will Tom Brady Return To The NFL?
Brady’s cohost Jim Gray also asked the NFL quarterback if he has plans to retire or if he will return to play next year on Monday’s episode of his “Let’s Go!” podcast, to which Brady got a bit heated. “If I knew what I was going to f–king do, I would’ve already f–king done it,” he said while on the podcast.
He then added, “I’m taking it a day at a time.”
After a long and awkward silence, Gray tried to lighten the mood by joking that Brady seemed “antagonized by the question.” Brady later thanked Gray for asking when he said, “I appreciate your asking,” before moving on to a new topic.
After the loss to the Cowboys, in a press conference, Brady addressed retirement by saying “I’m going to go home and get a good night’s sleep as soon as I can tonight. There’s been a lot of focus on this game. Just one day at a time.”
Which Team Could Brady Go To Next Year?
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport recently reported that there are a few teams currently looking at signing the 45-year-old quarterback. Those teams include the Tennessee Titans, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Las Vegas Raiders.
“He’ll be 46 years old and I would say there’s a chance that he does not return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite the fact that they very much want him back and plan to make efforts toward that,” Rapoport said during “NFL GameDay” on Sunday. “Among the teams that would consider Brady — a couple of them considered Brady last time [in his first free agency in 2020].”
“The Tennessee Titans still have some quarterback questions,” Rapoport continued. “The 49ers if they do not decide to roll with Brock Purdy, although he’s certainly stating his case. And then the Las Vegas Raiders, who have several of his old friends including Josh McDaniels.”
At this time, there is no confirmation on if Tom Brady will return to the NFL, and if he does, where he would end up for the upcoming season.
