Universal Orlando, one of Disney World's biggest theme park rivals, is now trolling those selling the water. In 2021, the Florida theme park Tweeted a joke, "PSA: Made for splashing, not drinking," in regards to people attempting to drink the water from Splash Mountain.

Now, as the ride closed and people are selling the water, they retweeted the first joke and added "Also, not for selling."

On January 22, 2023, thousands of Guests flocked to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World to experience the iconic attraction, Splash Mountain, for the last time.

In 2020, Disney Parks announced that the iconic attraction, Splash Mountain, located at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, will be rethemed into a “Princess and the Frog” ride.

As the Walt Disney Company pushes for more inclusion, they made the decision to get rid of Splash Mountain and turn it into a “Princess and the Frog” attraction. According to Disney, the story for the new attraction will pick up after the final kiss in the movie as Guests join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure “featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”

At this time, Disney has not announced a closing date for Splash Mountain at Disneyland, meaning the attraction remains open (for now), but the attraction at Walt Disney World is now closed forever.
