The retired gymnastics star is also admitting that things can be stressful at times and being close to family is helping her focus on what's important.

"I have so much good in my life, but I’ve been pretty stressed out lately. In times of chaos I think it’s a really good opportunity to practice how you react. Choosing peace, silencing your mind, and letting go of what you can’t control, and being realistic, and honest about what you can control," she wrote.

The loss of McKayla Maroney's father was revealed back in 2019 when the star explained he passed away due to complications with opioid abuse.

"Love u dad. I can’t believe it’s real. I don’t want to. I’ll miss you forever. Rest in peace. You were the most incredible dad,” she wrote on social media in an emotional tribute.

The death also came on the heels of Maroney going through a public emotional ordeal when she, along with many former gymnastics teammates, revealed they were sexually abused by former Team USA doctor Larry Nassar.

Maroney was one of the many young women who read impact statements in court and detailed the horrific abuse they endured at the hands of Nassar, who was ultimately sentenced to spend the rest of his miserable life in prison.
