Actress Daisy Ridley may be ready to return to a galaxy far, far away after all.

The "Sometimes I Think About Dying" star recently unveiled her new movie at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. While there, she was asked about her role in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, which began with 2015's "The Force Awakens."

She continued her role with the controversial 2017 film "The Last Jedi" and wrapped up her part in the nine-episode Skywalker Saga with 2019's "The Rise of Skywalker."

That being said, the 30-year-old actress said that she is "open to a phone call" from Lucasfilm when it comes to her future in the Star Wars franchise.

Daisy Ridley Hints She May Be Ready To Return To 'Star Wars' As Rey

In a 36-second video from IMDb, Daisy Ridley shared which Rey scene that she was most proud of and discussed her future in a galaxy far, far away.

“Looking back, what was the one Rey scene that you’re most proud of?” a reporter asked. Daisy replied, “Oh, my gosh. The thing that springs to mind is in ‘The Force Awakens’ with Harrison Ford, the little-known actor. He gave me the gun. I say something like, ‘I can take care of myself’ or something.”

The line is actually “I think I can handle myself” but close enough!

“I was so nervous that when he was doing it, I was like, ‘Oh my god, it’s Harrison Ford,’” Daisy continued. “So I was, like, proud that I got through the thing and seemed fairly casual.”

Daisy was then asked, “Do you think you’ll ever revisit the franchise at some point?” Daisy replied, “I mean, I’m… I’m open to a phone call. I’m… I’m looking for employment.”

This Isn't The First Time Daisy Has Teased A 'Star Wars' Return

In March 2022, Daisy Ridley was walking the BAFTA red carpet while sporting her new pixie cut and a ruffled black dress. At the time, the "Murder on the Orient Express" star was also asked if she would ever return to a galaxy far, far away.

A reporter asked, “Do tell me. Do you miss being Rey? Are you going to make a return to ‘Star Wars’?”

“I’ll always be Rey,” Ridley replies with a smirk before jokingly adding, “Soundbite!”

In October 2022, Deadline reported that “Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof and “Ms. Marvel” filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy are already working on their own Star Wars film. The Hollywood Reporter added that Lindelof is working on the script with Justin Britt-Gibson, who worked as an executive story editor on Guillermo del Toro’s vampire series, “The Strain.”

Although the movie is a standalone film, sources told the outlet that it’s possible that the movie might turn into a trilogy, or at least get a sequel, if the first movie is a success. Sources also say that it will take place after the events of 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker,” which will be the first bit of visual media to explore the galaxy after the last Star Wars movie hit theaters.

In June, Daisy took to Instagram to tell her followers that she had wrapped filming on Disney’s “The Young Woman and the Sea.” “And that’s a wrap!” Ridley captioned a series of snaps documenting her last date on set. “Last day on set for Young Woman and the Sea. It has been tough, but worthwhile, and I think we have made a film to be proud of. So grateful for #TeamTrudy.”

The movie “Young Woman and the Sea” tells the story of Gertrude “Trudy” Ederle and is based on the novel of the same name by Glenn Stout.

In 1926, Gertrude became the first woman to ever swim across the English Channel. Ederle was the daughter of a German butcher from Manhattan who became a competitive swimmer that won the gold medal in the 1924 Olympic Games. Ederle first swam 22 miles from Battery Park, New York to Sandy Hook, New Jersey, and set an 81-year record before she eventually attempted to cross the English Channel.

No release date for the film has yet to be announced.
