Megan Thee Stallion Criticized By Breakfast Club For Speaking More To 'White Publications'

Megan Thee Stallionrecently graced the cover of GQwhere she was crowned by them as the Rapper of the Year. Fans of the Houston rapper are very happy for her as she has turned into a superstar since early 2019. 

Some criticism she is receiving now though is from The Breakfast Club as she is accused of only giving a lot of information to "white publications" as opposed to Black-owned media outlets such as them, who are operated byRevolt, which is owned by Diddy.

There is a Breakfast Club segment on their "Rumor Report" and they discussed Megan appearing in GQ. A point they tried to bring up was them being surprised that she opened up about the alleged Tory Lanez shooting there and in her New York Times op-ed. 

They explained how her team has told other media outlets that questions such as ones relating to Lanez weren't allowed to be spoken on. For GQ and the NYT though, she went into great detail, with the latest being how Lanez reportedly tried to pay her off after he allegedly shot her this summer.

"She told all that to GQ?" Charlamagne Tha God asked. "Meg was supposed to be here this week but she um...they had a long laundry list of things not to talk to her about and it was all Tory Lanez and that situation-related."

"I think it's crazy because when she does White publications, she's able to talk and talk about everything that she wants to talk about but when she goes to the Black press and Black publications, there's a list that the label sends out that [says], 'Don't ask her about this, don't talk about this, don't talk about that," DJ Envy added. 

Envy went on to say that their show supports Megan by always playing her music and discusses all the good things that she accomplishes. Charlamagne circled back to the white publications topic and believes that artists "spill their guts" to them but don't speak to Black media much.

"But, you know, I just don't like when artists go to White publications and spill their guts but when they come to the Black media outlets they have a long list of things not to talk about."

Aside from the GQ cover, Megan has fans ready for November 20 as then, she will finally be releasing her debut studio album, "Good News." 

On Tuesday, she revealed the full track list for this project. It will contain 17 tracks with appearances from other stars such as DaBaby, SZA, City Girls, and Big Sean. The lead singles are "Don't Stop" featuring Young Thug, Girls In The Hood, and of course, the former No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 record, "Savage" remix feat. Beyoncè
