Rebel Wilson & GF Called 'Hypocrites' For Partying In Dubai, Despite Anti-LGBTQ+ Laws

Is Rebel Wilson no longer an ally of the LGBTQ+ community? That is the billion-dollar question plaguing the minds of queer kings and queens as the Australian sensation and her girlfriend Ramona Agruma's latest trip left fans divided.
The adorable pair could not have chosen the worst time to visit UAE's hot spot, the extravagant city of Dubai.
Over the weekend, the same-sex couple visited the tourist dreamboat hub for the grand opening of Atlantis The Royal Hotel featuring a grand performance by Beyoncé. The pair were among the star-studded guest list; however, attending the lavish occasion was a slap to the LGBTQ+ community, according to some fans.
Outraged Fans Want To Revoke Rebel Wilson's Gay Card For Partying In Dubai
Last year, the "Pitch Perfect" star won the hearts of thousands worldwide after revealing her relationship with the Latvia beauty, Agruma. Although Wilson has been an ally of the community before coming out, the actress may have lost her spot in the LGBTQ+ world.

On Sunday, the 42-year-old shared a video montage highlighting some of the fantastic experiences she had with her significant other in Dubai. During their stay, the TV personality and Agruma stepped out in their finest attires.
As displayed in the Instagram clip, the couple stayed at a celebrity-worthy suite with a pool big enough for 20 people. The "Senior Year" star and her lover enjoyed various parts of the resort, including breaking boards with critically-acclaimed chef Nobu Matsuhisa. This occurred at the opening of another of the founder's eponymous restaurant franchises.
For the grand opening of Atlantis The Royal Resort, Wilson and Agruma were treated to a spectacular light show and a concert from Beyoncé. This marked Queen Bey's long-awaited return to the stage in four years, and lovebirds happily cheered the songstress from their seats.
From their excited demeanor to their playful show of affection throughout the montage, it was clear that the blonde duo had the time of their lives in Dubai. Similarly, the 42-year-old gushed about her experience in the caption by writing, "Atlantis The Royal is BEYond! What a weekend with BEY!"
However, unlike their usual lovey-dovey posts, most reacted negatively to the couple's happiness. Several people expressed disappointment over the Australian native's decision to promote Dubai. For those unaware, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has little to no tolerance for the LGBTQ+ community with its strict laws.
An outraged fan wrote, "Aren't you a member of the LGBTQ+ community? The hypocrisy of it all." A second individual echoed their support by reminding the "Bridesmaids" actress about the country's death penalty for homosexuality. The "hypocrisy" comments did not end there as more people aired their displeasure.
"Hypocrisy at its best @rebelwilson. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I thought you would be aware of the laws against us there," another person penned. Other fans called out the Teen Choice Award winner for flaunting her privileges.
"Oh, the privilege. What about other LGBTQ people," someone rhetorically asked while another person sarcastically penned, "strange place to go and promote when you're in a same-sex relationship.
The criticisms worsened as a few people shared their concerns about UAE's Anti-LGBTQ laws. One person noted that their homosexual friends were forced to book a two-bedroom apartment because they feared the possibility of attracting the authorities.
Nonetheless, the majority could not believe their idol would disregard the suffering of the LGBTQ+ members in UAE and proudly promote content for the country.
Beyoncé Faces Blacklash For Expensive Dubai Concert Amid Their Anti-LGBTQ Laws
Wilson was not the only celebrity on the hot seat as DailyMail reported that Queen B faced similar criticisms for her Dubai performance. The "Halo" singer allegedly received $24 million for headlining the opening of Atlantis the Royal, and fans were not pleased.
The Grammy-winning artist who dedicated her latest album, "RENAISSANCE," to her late uncle Johnny, a member of the gay community, has been dragged for being a hypocrite. One user perfectly summed the thoughts of the masses in a comment that read:
"So wait, lemme get this straight @Beyonce comes out with a whole album dedicated to the LGBTQ community and then goes to perform for the first time in years in Dubai?! The same Dubai that’s vehemently homophobic…?"
On the same note, other fans believed that the "Partition" songstress betrayed the LGBTQ+ community for the payout, while some accused Beyoncé of supporting queers only to boost her career.
