The Team behind 'Michael'

Yes, the movie's name will simply be 'Michael' like it was for Elvis. And we know a poster with the King Of Pop's silhouette and his first name is more than sufficient to sell the movie. In this case, there's no real marketing needed behind it since a lot of people will be interested. All you need to do is to make a great movie with the right team. And it seems like the team behind the project is very promising.

The script is written by John Logan, a famous screenwriter who collaborated with Martin Scorcese on Aviator and also with Sam Mendes on two James Bond movies, Skyfall and 007 Spectre. So in terms of writing, we already know the movie is in good hands.

The film will be produced by Lionsgate and Graham King. And for those who know the names of Hollywood, you already know it's good news. Yes, Graham King is the one who's behind Bohemian Rhapsody. And when we see how good was this movie, we can already say for sure that Michael Jackson's biopic will be a success. However, Bohemian Rhapsody didn't depict the darkest parts of Freddy Mercury's life, and that's the main reason why some people didn't totally appreciate the movie, so with the same producer behind it, there will be a lot of critics again. But that's good news for the hardcore fans, who know what Michael Jackson has been implied in, and who don't want to hear about it again.

When is the filming?

Not before the end of 2023, so the film is expected in 2024 or 2025. The reason? Antoine Fuqua is now in Italy to shoot "The Equalizer 3" with Denzel Washington. He said that right after the ending of this shooting, he will directly start filming Michael Jackson's biopic.

And there's one thing for sure, he is already very excited about the project, because here's what he said: “The first films of my career were music videos, and I still feel that combining film and music is a deep part of who I am.” He then added: "For me, there is no artist with the power, the charisma, and the sheer musical genius of Michael Jackson. I was influenced to make music videos by watching his work – the first Black artist to play in heavy rotation on MTV. His music and those images are part of my worldview, and the chance to tell his story on the screen alongside his music was irresistible.”

His visionary storytelling skills and commitment to his craft will make Michael an unforgettable film.” With all those compliments, we can only think that this film will be wonderful.
