After almost three years of marriage, Brittany Snow filed for divorce from her husband Tyler Stanaland.
Snow Cites Irreconcilable Differences for Divorce
In Snow’s divorce petition obtained by The Blast, she is citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and claims her date of separation is yet to be determined. Snow and her ex Stanaland have a prenuptial agreement to make for potential straightforward divorce proceedings. She is also requesting that she and Stanaland pay their own attorney fees.
The Blast originally reported the couple’s separation in September, after the "Pitch Perfect" star announced it on her Instagram account.
In the Instagram post, Snow wrote, “After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another. We have realized we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives. We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter.”

What Caused The Couple’s Divorce?
Stanaland’s stint on the show “Selling the OC,” may have caused the couple’s friction. A source told Page Six that Snow didn’t approve of Stanaland’s appearance on the show. Stanaland comes from a lineage of real estate agents, as well as a lineage of Laguna Beach natives, and that solidified his work as a realtor for The Oppenheim Group – the real estate agency made famous by the show “Selling Sunset.” Stanaland was also a professional surfer, coming from two parents who pre-dated him in the surfing world.
The Blast also previously reported that Stanaland was out drinking with his reality TV costars Alex Hall and Polly Brindle immediately after he and Snow announced their separation. According to an eyewitness source for E! News, he didn’t seem upset and was enjoying the single life.
The couple originally met in 2018 through social media and mutual friends. According to People, their friends knew they would fit well together. He sent her an Instagram direct message, and they shared tacos and tequila on their first date. At the time, Stanaland claims they were infatuated with each other, and they then got engaged in 2019.
Stanaland Reflects On Health Struggles
Amid the news of the separation and divorce Stanaland also recently posted about his health struggles in an Instagram post. He reflected on his journey of being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2012, and the life-saving surgeries he had.
Stanaland wrote, “A reminder that health is wealth. And most of all a reminder to do the things that make you feel alive with the people you love, as long as humanly possible.”

“I’ve always said getting sick was the best worst thing that ever happened to me because it put life into perspective in a way only something like that could,” Stanaland wrote.
He concluded, “But finding comfort in the uncomfortable is where all the magic happens. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and makes you slow down. And sometimes that’s exactly what you need and where the best stuff happens.”
