Colton Underwood Comes Out
In 2021, just a few years after he was the lead of "The Bachelor," Colton Underwood made national headlines after he came out in an interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America."
"I've ran from myself for a long time. I've hated myself for a long time," Underwood told Roberts. "And I'm gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it. And the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know."
"I'm still nervous, but yeah," he continued to say. "It's been a journey for sure."
Underwood went on to say he went through a "dark and bad" time, even saying he "would've rather died" than say he's gay. However, this was a wake up call for the former "Bachelor" lead.
"There was a moment in L.A. that I woke up and I didn't think I was gonna wake up. I didn't have the intentions of waking up. And I did," he said before admitting his "suicidal thoughts" led him to "take back control" of his life.
Colton Underwood and Jordan C. Brown began dating shortly after he announced he was gay, and the two got engaged in February 2022.
