Iggy Azalea Clarifies Playboi Carti's Role With Son After Split

Iggy Azalea is clarifying a few things after revealing her breakup with her baby daddy Playboi Carti, most notably his role in their son's life. The "Dance Like Nobody's Watching" singer raised eyebrows earlier this week when she implied that she was raising their six-month-old child, Onyx Carter, as a single mother after ending her two-year relationship with her baby's father.
Iggy Azalea dropped the breakup bombshell when she took to her Instagram Story to announce their split just months after welcoming their first child together.
Addressing her relationship status, the Australian-born singer made it clear that she was a single lady. She also made it seem as if Playboi Carti wasn't in her son's life. "What I meant last night was I'm raising my son alone & I'm not in a relationship," she told her followers while referring to the cryptic message she dropped only hours earlier.
Over the weekend, breakup rumors began to swirl when the star wrote, "You Lost a Real 1" and didn't clarify who she was talking about.
The "Fancy" rapper followed that up by posting another scathing message to her Instagram Story. "People take loyalty for granted [and] that's why I'd rather be alone," she added. After confirming her split from Playboi Carti, Iggy Azalea did the unthinkable.
The star took to her social media and dropped the very first shots of Onyx on Sunday. The blonde bombshell had kept her child's appearance off social platforms until her breakup with Playboi Carti. Even in public, he was always covered up.
Posting not one, but two pictures showing her son on her hip, Iggy Azalea looked like a proud single mother while declaring her love for her infant. In one shot, she's showing off her snatched "baby waist" in a sexy black corset. The look was from a shoot the rapper did months ago, making it clear that her child has been by her side ever since his birth.
Despite making it appear that she was raising Onyx all alone, Iggy Azalea later clarified.
When it comes to their son, Playboi Carti is still very much involved in his life, so says Iggy Azalea. Taking to her Instagram Story, the "Sally Walker" rapper addressed the confusion on Monday evening. "Nothing I said was intended to make it seem like my son's father isn't part of his life but I've noticed a lot of people took it that way, so I wanted to clear the air," she wrote.
"Onyx is so so loved by his dad & has always had both parents in his life from day 1," Iggy added.
