Kelly Rizzo’s heart is so heavy once more from the failing health of her dog.
The tragedy that previously plagued the cooking enthusiast was the death of her husband, Bob Saget, who was sadly found dead in his Orlando hotel room on January 9, 2022, after performing a show. Reportedly, a head injury was the cause of death of the “Full House” actor.
Since the comedian’s passing, his widow has found consolation in sharing her grief with thousands of Instagram followers. It is no wonder that she used the same medium to plea for prayers for her ailing pet.
Kelly Rizzo Asks Fans To Remember Her Dog In Prayers
Rizzo took to her Instagram Story, dressed in a white V-neck blouse that showed her gold pendant. She finished the look with smokey eye makeup and toned blonde hair, which matched the vibe of her small hoop earrings. The clip also had a collage of images of the dog on it.
The 43-year-old conveyed the news of her sick pet, expressing frustration by saying, “It’s been a day. Many of you don’t know, but I do have a doggy; her name is Hilo.”
Rizzo explained that the pet lives in Chicago with her sister, Kimmy, and brother-in-law, Dante. She called the couple “amazing” caretakers for helping with Hilo since her move to Los Angeles. In her words, she said, “Kimmy has literally been an angel to my dog since I moved to LA.”
She noted that her doggy had frequent visits to the hospital over the years because of heart failure. The distressed pet owner claimed that Hilo was given limited time to live. However, she called her “a fighter.”
She continued, “Two and a half years ago, they gave her between six to twelve months to live, and she’s a fighter.”
Unfortunately, the health challenge of her dog has worsened, and Rizzo revealed the furry pet was taken in to the vet to be possibly put down. In the concluding part of her statement, with raw emotions, Rizzo requested a favor from her fans, saying, “She probably doesn’t have much time left, so if you could say a little prayer for Hilo and comfort. That would be very, very nice.”
Rizzo Honored Her Late Husband, Bob Saget On His Death Anniversary
As you might recall, the “Eat Travel Rock” blogger lost her husband of three years to the cold hands of death last year, consequently leading to a steady commitment to keeping her husband’s memory alive.
Per The Blast, Rizzo commemorated the first anniversary of Saget’s death by writing a heartwarming tribute to her beloved husband, describing how she feels from navigating his sudden passing.
Alongside a reel of the precious moments she shared with the late comedian set to "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds, the heartbroken widow poured out her heart. "One Year. Our hearts are so heavy. How could I not have talked to or seen my loving husband in a whole year? The surreal-ness never subsides," Rizzo's tribute began.
She continued, "I’ve accepted the reality long ago, but it still seems unreal when I see photos or videos of him so full of life. But there is one thing I carry with me every single day that makes this survivable. I AM THE LUCKIEST."
The celebrity blogger noted she was the "luckiest" to be Saget's wife and "live with his warmth, and laughter, and brilliance, and love." She expressed joy at being close with the "Dirty Work" actor's daughters while watching him help others firsthand.
"Some people can live 1,000 lifetimes and never live a life as fully as he did. And to that I have to say, Well Done. You really won life, honey. And that is why I will be forever grateful for him and all the endless love he gave me, until my last day," Rizzo concluded her touching message.
During the holidays, the TV host also honored her late husband. Rizzo recalled their last Christmas together and made a sad revelation about the moment.
Thinking back to the moment, she shared, “I certainly didn’t think that our first Christmas together (in the same city) last year would be our last. (it was the first year he came to Chicago to spend Christmas with my family along with my wonderful step-daughter, Lara).”
However, the grieving wife was “so glad” to have those special moments with the late actor and mentioned that he brought warmth to her life and everyone around him.
