When TikToker Emily got an email asking for money for the chance to meet Drew Barrymore, she made a hilarious video explaining the crazy situation. The video got Barrymore’s attention and the rest turned into a dream come true for Emily.
A TikTok Video Explaining A Spam Email From “Drew Barrymore” Got Barrymore’s Attention
Emily starts her video explaining what happened to her in such a serious way that many of her followers really believed she got lucky and that the actual Drew Barrymore emailed her on a whim. And then the tables turned through her sarcastic and hilarious storytelling.
“Drew Barrymore just emailed me. Okay, I’m freaking out!,” she begins her story. “So in one of her videos she’s talking about motherhood and how no one’s talking about like the realities of it and the wild ride that it is. And I was like, me I do.”
She then shows the comment section of the video with her comment, “Drew Barrymore we need to meet.” “Thought nothing of leaving that comment. Just like I love her, I would love to meet her,” she continued. “And then this morning, I work up to an email.” She then shows a screenshot of said email from “Drew Barrymore.”
The email had no subject line and the body of the email simply reads, “You said you want us to meet.” She then shows the email address it came from, which is, firstname.lastname@example.org. That’s when some of her fans really started to see through the excitement and realized Emily was being sarcastic.
“So obviously I emailed her back immediately. You do not respond to Drew Barrymore,” she explained. Then she read her response email. “Oh my – Drew, wow. How amazing that the absolute REAL Drew Barrymore had a gmail account and emails little old me. It’s almost unbelievable. Yes let’s please meet.”
Emily then got a response back agreeing to meet. She read the back-and-forth the two had via emails. It went on for a few more emails and then “Drew Barrymore” asked for $250. Emily was given options to pay including Paypal, Cash App, Bitcoin. Then a different email address was given to make the payment. Emily decided to turn things around saying she knows her worth and requested “Drew Barrymore” send her the money instead. The emails continued, and Emily’s sense of humor shined through in all the chaos.
Emily finished her video by saying, “Drew, one day when I have $250 I hope we can meet.”

The Hilarious Fun Didn’t End There!
In a follow up video, Emily tells her followers they should watch “The Drew Barrymore Show” on Monday. Barrymore heard about the spam email and had Emily on the show via phone call. In another video, Emily shows what happened on Monday’s episode.
“This woman named Emily went viral for sharing a hilarious tale about how I apparently emailed her, or rather someone pretending to be me emailed her and tried to scam her out of $250,” Barrymore explained. She then shows the viral TikTok video to catch everyone up to speed. “I was so glad she flipped it, cause whoever did that, like, especially on my behalf, as if I would ever do something like that. Negative, no, anger, yes. How dare that person do that?”
Barrymore then introduces Emily, who was on the phone with the segment producer and didn’t know that she was going to appear on the show. Emily was under the impression the show was calling her just to get “a read on the story.” Barrymore then gives Emily the surprise of her lifetime.
“Emily, how dare that person do that,” Barrymore adamantly said. Emily responded, “I get to meet you for free? I don’t have to pay you $250?” That’s when Barrymore made the story a little sweeter. “Actually Emily, I’m going to pay you that $250 and I’d like to fly you to New York to come here and meet with us.”
