Nikki Bella Not As Down About John Cena's Wedding As You Might Think

John Cenaand Shay Shariatzadehare newlyweds -- the couple just got married on Oct. 12 in Tampa. The whole thing was a bit of a surprise, and now fans are just trying to find out more about Shariatzadeh, an engineer, who doesn't come from any celebrity background. 

But before that relationship blossomed, Cena was in a relationship with fellow WWE star Nikki Bella. Their engagement breakup in April 2018 was tough on WWE fans, but Bella is taking things in stride.

Here's what we know  about her feelings on the recent nuptials.

A source says that Nikki couldn't be happier for the new couple:

“Nikki is really happy for John that he has found someone to share his life with and wishes nothing but the best for him and Shay."

The source continues:

"Nikki is living her best life and only hopes for the best for them, as well. She is in such a different chapter of her life and feels so blessed to have all her hopes and dreams come true.”

It's not just that she's happy for Cena and Shariatzadeh -- another source says there is “an endless amount of respect” between them, adding: “Nikki and John had a relationship and friendship that was as unique as possible and the time they spent together will never be forgotten."

And anyway, Bella has got her hands full these days. She and Artem Chigvintsev, her "Dancing With the Stars" dance partner, are making their own plans. Chigvintsev proposed to her in November 2019, and Bella just had a baby boy in July named Matteo. 

Bella made a statement explaining what happened at the time she and Cena broke up.

“After I called off the engagement, we tried to work on our relationship to get back to where it was in order to move forward with our wedding. [But] after much time and soul-searching alone, and together, we have decided to officially part ways.”

One reason that Bella and Cena had broken off the engagement was because they wanted different things -- Cena sought to focus on his career, while Bella was really looking toward having a baby and all that comes with that.

And now Bella has that. A source told Hollywood Life that Bella is “still adjusting to the thrill of motherhood and can’t wait to marry Artem in her dream wedding."

So they have both moved on to better things.

Says a source: “Nikki couldn’t ask for anything more, and she’s glad that John found everything he’s looking for, too,”
