Many were surprised to hear that Pat Sajak had renewed his contract through 2028, especially considering that he had hinted that his time on the show might be nearing an end.

In a September 2022 interview with ET’s Kevin Frazier, Sajak admitted that he might pass away before “Wheel Of Fortune” goes off-air. "In most television shows by this time, you would have said, 'That’s probably enough,' but this show will not die," he said, adding, “It appears I may go before the show.”

"Years go by fast,” he continued. “We're getting near the end. It's been a long [time]. We're not gonna do this for another 40 years. The end is near.”

Fortunately, it seems that Sajak is pleased with his lengthy tenure. “It's an honor to have been in people's living rooms for that long,” he added. “People were out there welcoming us. We're happy and proud.”
