Chelsea DeBoer (formally Houska) may have left her place on MTV’s “Teen Mom: OG,” but she’s filled that TV gap with a new HGTV show.
Chelsea and her husband, Cole DeBoer, are getting ready for the premiere of their new home renovation show, “Down Home Fab.”
HGTV just released a sneak peek trailer for the show on their official Instagram account on Monday, January 9th.

The clip shows Chelsea, Cole and their four children at their South Dakota mansion.
“I’d say my style is South Dakota glam,” Chelsea says in the clip.
Both Cole and Chelsea are born and raised in South Dakota so cowhides, antlers, the color black and “anything a little bit different” is their go-to style.
“Down Home Fab” came to fruition from redesigning their own home and getting feedback on social media.
They have a design business where they show their clients how to take chances and go bold in their designs.

Chelsea calls herself the “designer” while Cole dubs himself the “project manager.”
MTV fans will recall that the reality TV star rose to fame on “16& Pregnant” after getting pregnant with her first child, Aubree, as a teenager. She had to grow up fast and was a single mother until she met Cole.
Their first home renovation is for their wedding planner, Jessica.
While the feedback on HGTV’s Instagram post was overwhelmingly positive, those on Reddit were much more critical of Chelsea’s “South Dakota Glam” style.
“Couldn’t make it halfway through. They’re doing a reno show: demonstrate a home full of target furniture and can’t use any descriptive language for the style, materials, patterns, etc.” one person criticized.
Reddit Users Rip Chelsea's Style To Shreds!
Another Redditor wrote, “I had to turn off the sound. Too cringy for me. I don’t mind her style minus the cowhides/antlers/art…"
Yet another person commented on the cheapness of the home accessories Chelsea is using to style the home with.
"My favorite thing about this house is that no matter what room or hallway you're in, there's 40 TJ Maxx pillows," they commented.

Chelsea made the announcement on December 13th.
“🚨 We have some NEWS: Catch @chelseahouska and @coledeboer #OnHGTV in their new reno series #DownHomeFab, premiering *January 16 at 9|8c* and streaming on @discoveryplus same day.🚨,” she wrote on Instagram.
Her fans were absolutely STOKED about her and Cole’s return to TV.
“From following them over the years and seeing their own personal styles in what they share etc, I think people will really enjoy this series. I look forward to it. The new Chip and Joanna? 🤔,” one fan wrote.
“The next chip and Joanna ❤️,” another echoed.
On fan subtly shaded “Teen Mom” writing, “Talk about level up!”
This fan brought up a great point about the show’s name, “Not ‘Down Home Deboer??’
But for real, why isn’t it named that?

Chelsea originally announced the series in February writing “We can’t wait to take our fans along this next crazy journey of building our business from the ground up — with four kids in tow — showing all of the highs and lows on the renovation site and at home,” Chelsea informed fans when announcing the series, then titled “Farmhouse Fabulous.”
The series will show the couple “continu[ing] their passion of building and designing while helping other couples do the same.”
Since leaving the “Teen Mom” franchise, Houska and Deboer have kept active social media presences, especially on TikTok.
Their four kids are often featured in their videos.
Houska left MTV in 2020 after 10 seasons of the show.
