Gwyneth Paltrow misses the 90s. It was apparently the best time for celebs to get wildand never get caught doing drugs.
Gwyneth Paltrow Went Wild In The 90s
The actress misses the times when cell phones and social media didn’t run Hollywood. “It was great. I mean, talk about doing cocaine and not getting caught!” said Paltrow while appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden. The shocking statement led Paltrow to a deeper reason why she misses the 90s.
“Like, you could just be at a bar and be, like, having fun, dance on a table, you could — no camera phones, especially in New York,” she recalls. “Interestingly enough, there were no paparazzi. You could stumble out of a bar and go home with some rando and no one would know.”
The actress was at the height of her career in the mid-90s to early 2000s so she probably got invited to all the best parties.
Gwyneth Paltrow Again With The Drug Talk
Paltrow believes that not all drugs are bad and she has spoken about her stance on them in the past. The Goop founder once told The New York Times that psychedelic drugs were the future for mental health treatments because of how much it can open the mind up.
“I think how psychedelics affect health and mental health and addiction will come more into the mainstream,” she claims. “I mean, there’s undeniably some link between being in that state and being connected to some other universal cosmic something.”
In particular, Paltrow is speaking about ibogaine, a plant-based substance. If that sounds familiar to you, it could be cause Lamar Odom used this Gabon-based substance to help battle his addiction.
Gwyneth Paltrow Hasn’t Done Psychedelic
For someone who chats up the use. Psychedelics so much, she really has no clue what she is talking about on a personal level because she admitted, “I’ve never done it. I’m terrified.” She has, however, done MDMA with her husband Brad Falchuk while on a trip to Mexico.
“It was a very, very emotional experience,” she recalled on her Netflix show The Goop Lab. She found it hard to reconcile with the public's image of her. “Being the person that people perceive me to be is inherently traumatic.”
Paltrow is learning to have more personal experiences seeing as her children are getting older and she will be an empty nester soon.
Gwyneth Paltrow Is Starting The Next Phase Of Life
The actress nearly teared up when the conversation turned to her children Apple, 18, and Moses, 16 who will soon be flying the coop. Apple is already away at college and it really opened Gwyn’s eyes.
“I'm not handling it very well. It's a huge change because Apple's really hilarious, and she's got a big presence,” pointed out Paltrow. Even her brother is a little sad. “So when we are around the dinner table and somebody says to Moses 'what is it like with your sister not home?' And he's like ‘quiet.’”
It’s not all sad, Paltrow has loved everything about mothering the kids she shares with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. “I have to say I loved every single stage…and every stage I felt like ‘oh I wish I could freeze time like I'm never going to love them more than this,’ and then you just love them more.”
